1. I don't think it's worth the hassle. I would probably only buy/sell from a member I felt I knew very well, had shown they weren't after a quick buck, and generally that they had integrity.

Money makes people ugly and stressed.

  2.
Wowsers trousers, that Ibanez is lovely! Glad I decided to have a look in here, stops me looking at the TV while my girlfriend watches Embarrassing Illnesses :)
If there's a crop, that would be the cream.

Something tells me Jon shoveled us the fuglers and kept that one to himself  .

  3.
I hate every bass with dead strings... eugghhoo!!! just not my cup of tea!

    - oh speaking of which.. anyone fancy a brew?
Even with new strings it sounds plain and indecisive.

  4. I've only had poor experience with Encore and Stagg. But apparently Stagg have sorted out their quality now.

I don't like basses with an inherently 'cutting', 'hard', 'trebly' tone; so would probably leave some of the stereotypically sterile basses alone.

  5. How do you work out the value of an instrument?

I was looking at those Arias and Grecos from Tokyo (one P went for about £117 +importing fees etc.). I figured that I was probably basing my perceived value on the basses he had previously sold and currently had up for sale (BIN).

    Is this up?
