I had been into Purple, Zeppelin, Sabbath and the usual mega bands until the night I saw the Pistols. I suppose my judgement was coloured by what I had seen before that night. The overall impression was one of chaos, which we had never seen before, but we all new this was it..... It's difficult to imagine now what it was like for a bunch 19 year old kids,40 years ago, to witness something that did not exist in their minds before that night.....it really cannot be explained...

This sounds like a "BLUE AND THE BEATLES" moment. One of those 'had to be there' situations.

    Time gets to decide.

Maybe this is correct. Maybe not. Time does not exist. It's merely a theory or an explanation to help us quantify a period of existence. It is we the people who ultimately decide the fate of music as it passes down through the generations. It is people who decide what to carry forward and what to leave behind. It's a question of quality, what is quality and how do you quantify the qualities in a song or a piece of music that deem it worthy of remembrance. What is it that makes certain music relevant and continue to be relevant. I wish I knew the answer to these questions. I wish I had that musical Midas touch. I agree that a lot of pop music is irrelevant, a sort of chewing gum for the brain but every once in a while a gem comes along and gets its hooks in the psyche of a generation and another icon is born and like it or not it will be carried forward and passed on for decades and attributes will be afforded to it in retro that probably never existed in its conception and infancy but this is all part of that quality, that unquantifiable something that may be no more than a shot in the dark, but it was enough to capture the hearts and minds of a generation and generations to come.

  3. I had one for a while. It was very good. I used it with an iMac with logic so I can't really comment on the issues you are experiencing as I understand you are using a Windows PC. Mine was plug and play. I had an issue where the guitar always sounded out of tune when recorded. It was fine in the headphones but the track once recorded sounded off. This came good I'm not sure how. Decent piece of kit I must say. I didn't use any di boxes or fx pedals I instead used the logic fx if I wanted to add distortion etc.

A vocal rendering here, with a touch of mystery to it. Yes, you may hum along; I'm sure you all know the tune...

Thanks :) I wish I have the ability to make longer tunes without constant repeating. To be honest I just recently started recording (like EVER), and I never played with loops nor with other people so to fit more than 3 lines and longer than a minute tune is for me (at this stage) like embarking on a 'Homer-like Iliad & Odyssey journey'

But if you do fancy More you can always press the Repeat button :D

You've got three weeks!!!!! Only joking. I totally understand. Great work.

Ok lads and gals :) I don't know if the rules say anything about how short a piece can be, but I either have attention deficit disorder or am just a dummy learning how to do this new-to-me-recording-songs-stuff  Again I enter with a short piece but will try with time to make things longer I promise

Any way, like last month's art picture here too I approach this sculpture from the sculptors point of view/feeling. I do like art but I mostly enjoy the part when creating the art form be it a painting, sculpture or a tune. In this case I see this sculpture being made with a hammer and wood chisel (no chainsaw in my imagination). The sculptor is dancing around the tree trunk chiseling away piece by piece to release this monster into its new form!

And here is the first entry for the month November!
