1. Latest for sale list...

George Dennis Tremolo and Volume Pedal

    Green Sovtek Big Muff
Pics below. I bought this as a non-functional unit and repaired it. I replaced the switch and a faulty pot with proper Sovtek ones (from www.smallbearelec.com). Replaced a single blown transistor with a new one, with the same specification. Sounds ACE. Comes with the battery cover, but the clip inside only holds the battery top and bottom.
     GONE TO EBAY

Electroharmonix Pulsar - modified with second switch and speed control to allow two different selectable speeds

If anyone wants to talk trades, I'm after a Pedaltrain 2 and a Stagg EUB. And that's it, really.

  2. I know exactly what would happen if I bought one of those SVT-style pedals - I'd play with it until I got my "sound" - ie the sound I get out of a Sansamp now.

But I'm still tempted to buy one! Tech21 are absolute teases.

Ditto the 6-preset monster - I only use one preset on my programmable BDDI now, but still I'm dreaming about 3 extra banks to not use. I am a weak man.

  3. Where have all the people gone who made me offers after you bought this? Hmm...

I would say that this is strung with pretty much brand new stainless steels unless you've changed them. So brightness might be its middle name for a while.

  4. BRX,

Currently 2 Beans (don't ask why...), the 450b and the Kramer/Longfellow bydrid up above. Love them. Love them all.

    OG,

Yep, the Kramers dive. The Beans don't. The aluminium tone is definitely different to a classic wooden one.

thanks for the offer, but unfortunatly im only after the neck. i plan on getting another body built for it.

but after your post i just realised, aren't all the aluminium necks thru necks? so it wouldn't work would it?

    Hi Matt,

The Travis Beans are through-necks. Kramers had bolt-on necks on wooden bodies (and aren't as sought after for that as well as other reasons).

The rout for a Kramer neck is very different from a Fender - so you'll need to either buy a used Kramer neck (I got one off eBay and used it to make this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/84144792@N00/...57603263405555/ ) and get a body made for it, or get an alu neck made to fit a Fender.

Of the alu luthiers I've come across: I'm pretty sure Electrical (http://www.electricalguitarcompany.com/) will do you a neck. Last time I asked Greg Bailey (http://www.baileycustomguitar.com/) he didn't have a long enough lathe to do basses. Pete Longfellow (http://www.longfellowguitars.com/) in London might be worth a shout as he casts his necks rather than machining them.

Go read www.metalnecks.com to discover everything.

  6. Hooray! My specialist subject!

I've got 4 alu-necked basses at the moment. If you're after a Kramer, I have a lovely 450b I could be persuaded to sell. It's made of walnut and looks like this:

    http://www.valvette.us/rique/21486.html

I used to use one of those Hartke necks on a P-bass, and because the aluminium isn't bolted to the body, but all the string tension runs through it, it started pulling itself out of the neck by wrenching the fingerboard off. Not pretty.

  7. This is back up for sale now I've fixed a few issues it had. I put the original front pickup back in, but it sounded AWFUL, so I've sourced a matching modern pickup. Sounds sweet now. I've also changed the nut, because I noticed that the original was held together with epoxy.

Price is down to £210 plus shipping.

  8.
Yep its 8 ohm 1200 Watts RMS.

I bought this new and then sold it to Steve. I gigged it a few times but treated it with kid gloves. Good sound, nice and lightweight with heavy duty handles that make it easy to move. Infact I only sold this to buy 2 2x10s of the same brand so there you go..

    Great price too!
Hi! I was wondering what your new username was. Don't worry - I looked after your baby for you. So there we go, I was the 2nd owner, and this cab has been safe in BC hands for its whole life.

    theosd - 40cm. Height is 63cm, width is 58cm

  9. I've just put my LOUD 4x10 in the for sale section... I don't suppose anyone can remember the specs? I know it's 8ohm, but I don't know the power handling or what type of Eminence speakers it has in it. I seem to remember it being something obscene like 1200W.

  10. I've decided to sell my LOUD cab, and I'm hoping that some Bassworld veterans will remind me of the exact spec. It's got 4 Eminence speakers and a horn in it and is in lovely condition - the carpet is unmarked and there's just a little scratch on the metal grille. It's unported. Definitely 8ohm, and if my memory serves me correctly it's 1200W (help me out on this one...).

These cabs were made in Ireland (I think) and are fantastic for the money. There was a problem late on where the guys making them stole quite a lot of money from people on the old BW. I bought this from a BW member, and I think I'm the third owner, all from BW.

I was thinking £150. Only been gigged a couple of times and always treated well. It lives in North London, near the A1 and North Circular for easy pick-up.

Pics now up - as you can see the carpet is immaculate. There's a little scratch to the paint on the back panel, and a completely unnoticeable one on the grille. The back, top, sides and base of the cab are nice thick plywood, and the front is MDF.[attachment=5004:c

  11. When I paid for my VFB-2, I am convinced that Dave ran to the Post Office with it. It was in my hands faster than I could have wished for. It was a pleasure doing business with him.
