Sorry, but if you're in one band then that's it, you don't play in other bands.  Help out in an emergency as long as no one else minds.  Not enough gigs to keep you happy, get more gigs.  Wrong type of music, leave and join another band.  I think you get where I'm coming from.

Wouldn't hurt to just re-solder the connections first, then you'd know whether it's a bad socket or not.

I had a machine head rattling on me once, it was actually the ear loose in the slot.  Took ages to find it, a quick squeeze with a pair of pliers fixed it.

I only know that ESE was a music shop in Maidstone who produced their own range of music gear.  Mainly PA but a few other amps and cabs as well.  I never tried any ESE equipment so can't comment on sound or quality.  Sorry.

Being left handed, trying out anything other than a black Squire Jazz or Precision, which I don't like, is impossible.

Personally, I would just sand it.  You've had it for a few years now so I would assume that you've got no plans to sell it, so sand away.  If you ever want to sell it then you can fork out for a refinish.

With the cab horizontal, the left speaker is full range, I think I remember that correctly and the older cabs are 4 ohms.

Just put this in Ebay search or even google and you'll find thousands.

I can only agree, certainly the best and the inbuilt modem actually works!

Since my then band folded during covid, I've had one sitting around doing nothing.  I think I might just sell it.  It will be a lot cheaper than the prices you've seen. 

I think the yellow wire is in the wrong  place!

Trollies are great until you get to a kerb or door step or stairs or a step up to a door step, etc.

I don't care what anyone says and they'll aways say a watt is a watt but, valve amps are loud!  Transistor amps are only half as loud as valve amps and class D amps are only half as loud as transistor amps.  I do use a class D amp myself but only because I'm getting old and valve and transistor amps are getting heavier.  But I accept the limitations and 600w class D is loud enough for me.  Back in the day though, a 100w valve head and a pair of 4 x 12s would have been more than enough for any venue without P.A. support.  In fact, there was no P.A. support!
