1. If our singer (who is generally excellent btw) goes off, we tell him. The recording thing is excellent - we went through a period when we were just starting to put our set together of recording every practice. If he, or anyone else, is out, this is the way to spot it. Encourage everybody to be critical of themselves - if I hit a bum note I put my hands up and say sorry. Imagine going on stage without tuning your bass? Or hitting a semi-tone off every couple of lines? No difference - his voice is his instrument. Record!

  2. Used Ashdown MAG 300 H and MAG 410 Deep Cab. Love it and can't wait to get it in the band room on Saturday to crank the hell out of it. Probably not terribly exciting for all you real gear heads but it's a serious trade up from my Ashdown EB130.

  3. So I can't decide whether to get one of these. I currently have an Ibanez Soundgear GIO (P/J pickups) which is actually a pretty good wee bass. Thing is, I could really do with upgrading my amp - I have an Ashdown EB 130. I love the sound out of the amp, I just need something more powerful for gigging headroom. I would probably go for another Ashdown in about the 300W range.

What do you reckon people? I need some help!

    Holy sh1t that's massive!

  5. Hey guys. I currently use a Big Muff for fuzz and a Boss SD-1 for drive. I was thinking of getting the Bass Juice to save me taking 2 pedals to gigs. Do you reckon the Juice is a good replacement for my current set-up? I don't use the fuzz much, just for a couple of songs, but the drive is always on as I like my bass to sound dirty. Advice greatly appreciated!

  6. Hi, my name's Steve. I play bass in a rock band from Belfast called RedEye - here's our MySpace link if you're interested.

As to gear, it's all bargain basement stuff: an Ibanez GSR 200, an Ashdown Electric Blue 180 with a Boss SD-1 for a bit of grit and occasional use of a Big Muff (you'll hear that on the song Northern Lights if you go to the MySpace). Some day I'll upgrade but it does me for now - I quite like it in the context of our music actually.

    http://www.award-session.com/cleartone_cables.html

Handmade with Neutrik plugs, Van Damme or Proel cable, never had one fail, very very VERY affordable.

PS The last two I ordered took a good week to arrive, so bear that in mind.
+1 Very good quality and value
