Well on the back of the head it says "serial number" but there is no number? I believe these were made as far back as 1986. Would a pic of the control cavity help?

I believe this is a classic 4 or 4x perhaps someone will enlighten us all. Figured maple top and slate grey gloss finish. 2 band active EQ. EMG-HZ pickups. In pretty good condition but by no means mint, has some pic scratch/marks dull areas to the front, and a little rash and some scratches to the rear, the head stock facing again has some light scratching. The back of the neck has a few light marks but nothing serious at all. Sounds great. From the late 70's early 80's, good build quality precision copy. High gloss black, there are a few small bumps, some scratching to the scratch plate and a little rash to the back, a chip on the tip of the head stock, (penned out). The thumb rest was moved at some time so there are two screw holes towards the bridge. String thru bridge with high mass brass parts. Neck is fine, a small dink on the neck volute and there are two extra screw holes near the g tuner, no idea why as its the original tuner? Nice bass, sounds great.
