1.
Eh? Anyway - still got those bits? :)

    J.
Sorry, lost the plot - twice now only half the post has appeared!

Yes Jon, still got them! But as I said they're not pretty, there is some corrosion/rust.
PM me your address if you want the bits sending.

    Pete.

  2. I got bored with the looks of this bass about 20 years ago and attacked it in the shed, the body/neck were reshaped and resprayed. Used for many a gig in the past then it was left in the loft and forgotten about.

Anyway, I picked it up for the first time in ages this week - the action was awful so I set about adjusting it, re-strung it and got the action quite sweet. The sound was nice and growly, so, I thought I'd treat it at a few new bits - the originals had gone rusty. Changed the bridge, knobs and tuners with some new parts from Thomann. Setup the action and intonation and it sounds and plays great again. The tuners look a bit lost on the headstock, so I might have to hack a bit more off it if I can be bothered.

So what do you reckon? Anyone know what it it/was?

  3.
The switcher unit that,s at the top of the rack just below the pedals does the switching, all I have to do is select a patch from the pedal board onstage, It,s like using a multi effect unit but using my pedals as the effects.
The pedal board lets me program what effect chains i want so I can switch in multiple effects in and out with a single step.
Got ya!

So what about that Clark compressor any good?

  4.
Quick Update, The pedals are now in place and all I have to do is make up the 32 jack to jack leads to lace the whole thing up.
You must be tall to stomp on those pedals :)

  5. Just ordered some custom size covers from them so, assuming you can wait a bit, will let you know what they're like when they arrive in a couple of weeks.

It's to fool the Ric police

  7. Hi guys,

If I'm not mistaken, NAS has offered his exellent establishment for future bashes.
The recent Midlands BB was held there and I think that all that attended would agree that the venue was out of this world! It is located near Kidderminster so is fairly central.

  8.
Awesome! Why do you eq the signal twice?
I don't!

Channel 1 EQ is used in the side-chain in/out for the compressor (channel 1), this is used to 'shape' the compression.

Channel 2 EQ is in the signal path in the FX loop.

  9. Hi guys,

No BM it's not mine, it belongs to MHUK.
I noticed the aspect ratio on the photo got fubard when resizing so here's another:

I Had a play of it and it seems well made and plays nice. The only -ve comment I'd make is that it sounded a little dull but that might be cured with new strings.

    Pete.

  10. Some are a bit ropey but here goes:

  11. I bought one of these from the same seller and was quite impressed Electro Acoustic Bass Guitar
Took it to the local jam night on Wednesday and ended up selling it to a guy for £12 more than I paid :)
Dunno if I just got lucky but it was a nice bass.

    Pete.

  12. I'm still going, will be bringing my rig, Ric and either my Yamaha TRB6 II or Warwick Streamer Std 5 fretless (can't play either of em lol :) ).

I'll try to get all three in but it will be a bit of a kerfuffle

Joe, my vote is for the Stingray.

    Pete.

  13.
so do u still use the pre from the swr?
Absolutely, hopefully this should help clear things up:

  14.
just wondering, do you use your sound tech instead of the power amp in your swr?
The SWR drives a Peavey 4x10, the ST a no brand cab with an Eminence 18" driver.

    Pete.
