1.
Hi dc, the Synth Bass pedal has just gone unfortunately. They do pop up sporadically on here (or the bay), so I doubt you'll have problems finding another one. I looked at you MySpace page, but then my browser crashed, so I honesty couldn't tell you how to implement this pedal in that band. I'll try to have another look later. Cheers, Paul
Thanks Paul, it's a fairly stock myspace page so it shouldn't be that that crashed your browser! If you get chance do check it out and PM me your opinion perhaps?
Ill certainly be on the lookout for one though I am now quite excited about having a wireless :)

2.
Wireless? Useful, but doesn't do BBBBWWWWWWAAAAAHHHHHH (etc...) noises.
hehehehe +1

I think I may consider this, student loan is in in 5 days and we'll see.
Don't suppose you would go to my band's myspace (link in the signature) and listen to luck, we're hoping to change the song in order to do a live version (we dont have the keyboard that was used to make the main line, or anyone to play it), and let me know honestly if you think i'd be able to make something work for it with this effects pedal?

3. Bump for an absolute workhorse of an amp. If you offer high-ish I'll throw in the postage free!
This thing is great for practice on your own or with a band, for gigs and recording, samples will be provided to anyone interested.
I've been told postage can be as low as a tenner! Or of course, pick up is free, and I'll throw in a cup of tea with that!

4.
The first batch of Pro IV & Pro V T-birds had the front strap button in the usual neck dive position, but the later ones, including my natural-oil Pro V have it on the back of the neck heel.
I think this must be from the original run.

If I were to move the strap button after trying the matchstick approach (which I think I will do later with large amounts of superglue - anything wrong with this?), to the neck heel area, which would be best to screw into, the walnut or the maple?

Thanks for all of the help from various people by the way. Particularly the sandberg club. I feel I should mention that the Sandberg is next on my list of basses to buy.

5. Right, after purchase of a half stack this week, my old workhorse of an amp has to go, in order to recoup some of what I've spent.

It's a Laney RBW200. I'd say it's loud for its size, particularly with the kickback feature, as it means the sound is coming right at you. You can also add an extension cab (I think 8 ohm minimum) to whack up the volume some more. I've used it in this format at gigs (thrash metal kinda stuff and it had the volume), or mic'd up on its own. It's also seen me through 2 EP recordings, mic'd and DI'd, and if you want to hear some of the sounds of it I can send you some of the songs we made?

Really not sure on the age, I'm going to try googling the serial number later today and I'll let you know. It was second hand when I bought it (for I think £240-250ish), but think it had only one previous owner.

It still works fine, I've used the thing for 3 years at gigs and band practices (weekly), and the past 2 years just as an in bedroom practice amp. The only thing that doesn't work is the handle, I'm fairly sure the right metal plate has been lost, and the handle was taped up when I got it anyway. This wouldn't be too hard to replace with any amp handle, or just a bit of stiff rubber and a screw! It can also still easily be carried by the lips at the front and back, or just as the whole thing in your arms (somewhere around 25kg I reckon).

Some specs (some nicked from elsewhere):
Some people seem to be confused as to whether it is a 12" or 15" speaker, I confess I thought it was the latter, but not sure now. It also has a 2" tweeter/horn, which can be switched on or off. The large speaker is reported to be Celestion (they are considered to be the canine's testicles when it comes to speakers, if you didn't know the name), but I've never opened the thing up to confirm this.
The controls: Active & Passive Inputs, Gain, Compressor, Bass, Para-mid, Treble, Presence, Limiter, Volume, HF In/Out, DI, FX Loop, Speaker Out, Tuner Out, Unique Dual Position Cabinet, Carpet Covered
Dimensions: 17"D x 19"W x 20"H

Given that the handle needs replacing, but that it's been a workhorse for 5 years plus, without a single technical problem, I will sell it for £115 picked up from central london, or posted for £130, and failing any offers I'll put it on fleabay in a week or so.

Fellow BCer BassBunny described it as a 'crackin little combo' here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?s=&sho...t&p=1200544

Thanks for looking
Dan

P.S. Not looking to drop the price again, this will go on ebay if it doesn't sell on here, and I don't wanna do that, so jump in and PM me now folks!

6. Also, what are you hoping to use it for. I play in a three piece now and I chose mine to add some depth to the backing sound during solos. If you want something as more of a lead chorus sound for bass solos, maybe ehx or digitech are the way to go?

7.
Just took some pics of my basses on a settee for my gear thread and thought I'd post the group shot here too. :)

Hondo II P bass (gutted and I don't have all the bits here to re-assemble it), Sandberg MM5, Sandberg JJ5, Ibanez BTB406QM and a Washburn XB100 underneath.
That Sandberg MM5 is one of the sexiest basses I have ever seen. Mind if I ask what she cost?

8. Attached is a photo of my 4 effects pedals, obviously, the best way to figure out what works for me would be to try them in various orders, but with the wealth of sounds available in each one, does anyone have any idea how would be best to order them. Is there an online guide perhaps, or a general rule of thumb to which I am not aware.
In case it's not obvious from the photo, in no particular order they are:
An EHX Q-Tron+ USA envelope filter
An EHX Bassballs (Russian)
A Boss ODB-3 bass overdrive
A Boss CEB-3 bass chorus

9. So a lovely Epi Thunderbird Pro-IV was dropped off to me today by the postie. Being a fleabay job, it's got a few dings, but seeing as I got it at 165, I'll deal with it. This isn't just a porn post, so read below!

Got a strap put on her straight away, as I go to stand up, the neck strap button, screw and all comes out of the hole. I also noticed there was a hole with a similar issue next to it, where the screw threads have become so worn, the screw just goes straight in and out without any purchase on the sides (see pic). So, I assume I need to filler and paint over these, as well as placing a new strap button somewhere else.

So questions:
Where do I put the new strap button? I know these things are notorious for neck dive, yet I've been told placing the button on the back of the body fixes it, but where abouts? Any BCers done this themselves and got a perfectly balanced TB? Bear in mind this is a T-bird Pro, and is neck through construction, not bolt on, and may be balanced differently (Mahogany wings on a 7 piece walnut/maple neck).

How do I go about putting a new strap button hole in? Hand tools, drills, or just take it to a guitar shop (how much will they do it for roughly?). I have no tools myself, though it's not beyond the realms of possibility that I could go and be cheeky down in my uni department workshop and ask them for a tool loan.

Finally, I've been looking at custom pickguards. Plenty of places do them in all sorts of varieties. Warmoth I understand only make them for their own TB-style bodies, though does anyone know if they'lll fit my bass. Then again, plenty of other sites, wdmusic, and guys like this on ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gibson-Thunderbird-I...#ht_2228wt_1139 ) say that these do not fit Epiphone basses. Yet this guy here ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CUSTOM-metal-BASS-Pi...#ht_3009wt_1139 ) says his does fit many Epi TB's, including my specific model. So what's the story, anyone know of any that particularly do or don't fit? Why would someone like wdmusic say theirs don't fit epis if they do (i'd imagine they'd sell more if they did). P.S. Not associated with either of those listings, just using them for reference.

Thanks,
Dan

10. So, here we have a few hideously grainy photos taken in my poorly lit room on my poor iPhone camera of my rig, which has come together today!
It comprises:
A Trace Elliot Series 6 AH200 w/GP12 Pre-amp. Purchased for a cheeky £175 off fleabay. Anyone that knows these amps knows that the 200W rating belies how hideously loud they can be, reviews frequently state how they put 400W+ non-trace's to shame.
A Marshall VBC 412 cabinet (rated 400W at 4ohms). Delivered today for £255 by our very own forum member Andy Blowers. It's huge in size, weight (49kg) and most of all sound. Andy put his Fender P through it for a bit when he dropped it off and he will testify its shaking of the room with the trace barely turned up to 2/10.

I think it looks sexy, sounds sexy, and hopefully you can enjoy these pics. The head of my warwick can be seen in some of the photos, left there as a reference for size (the cab didn't fit under my desk lol).

P.S. This means my little Laney RBW200 combo will be for sale soon, anyone interested can drop me a line for info, or there'll be a proper thread in the appropriate section soon.

11. Andy just delivered an earth shattering Marshall VBC 412 cab to my house. For a very fair price, and even threw in a lead I needed. A pleasure to deal with and always responded very quickly. This thing is absolutely fantastic with my trace...

12. I live in London, no way you could post this? And as for the IEC connection, is that just a kettle lead? I'd want to plug this straight into the mains ideally, it would be a big help for my pedal collection which has recently swelled from 2 to 4.

13. Here they are:
Left to Right: Dean Edge q4 w/Bartolini pups
DeVille bass (purchased recently for £25, SoundControl before they went bust)
My pride and joy, a 2006 Warwick Custom Shop 5er Corvette $$ (would have the 5th string if the hot pink DR string wasnt too fat to fit through a Warwick saddle) - the custom bit is just the quilt top, she's the nicest balancing and sounding thing in the world, so versatile it's unbelievable, if you haven't tried this model yet, do so!
My first bass, a Cruise Crafter MM copy, equipped with Steve Harris sig strings (seriously heavy to play)

I'm unsure of the sofa's origins, other than the landlady got it for us when we complained about the old ones...
