1.
Just come home from a rehursal and half way through the last song we were going to play, the bass drops out... The tweeter is still making noise but the woofer is doing bugger all. Tried my head through my lil'1x10 cab and its working fine so definately the cab. Took it apart - the crossover looks fine. Nothing has popped/come loose etc, and all the connections are solid to both the tweeter and woofer. I assume that the crossover in the GS112 is a high pass filter only, rather than there being a low pass for the woofer as well, so I suppose the woofer voice coils have packed in. I was driving it at about half volume and just over half gain with my LMII and playing my Stingray with no pedals or anything in line. Is this most likely just a component failure on the cab and a warrenty claim, or could I have broken it? Anyone had dealings with Aguilar re: warrenty before? Cheers chaps/chapettes Karl
Aguilar are pretty good at responding to emails - normally a day or two. However, as with most overseas companies, be prepared to ship it back to your local dealer, who may handle the return..... My GS112 has done me proud.
 2. Has anyone got any 1st hand experience of coloured and coated strings. I was thinking of getting some DR Extra Life coated.

 6. Hi all, Have been putting a few posts up over the last week, but have not actually introduced myself. Have been playing for 11 years, but have only really found this site after some excellent personal reviews by fellow forum members. Hopefully see you all around soon. K
 7. Hi all, I have had previous bass rigs and the size of the rig has gone up and down more often than a pair of bride's knickers. Unsure as to what's hot and receommended at the moment. Have seen Ampeg SVT series, MarkBass' offering, and Ashdown. I am tempted by a lightweight amp and cabs, but understand the compromise of less speakers. Currently have a Behringer BX4500H head and Aguilar 112 cab. May keep these for rehearsals and small gigs. Need something beefier and louder to not feel drowned out on stage. Out front is fine - all instruments run through PA. - I'm looking for a head and cab capable of medium to large venues. - I play rock/soul/motown/blues with a MusicMan Stingray - I don't rely on pedals for my EQ, just a good built-in preamp - I like a warm punchy sound where possible - XLR DI out needed of course - I like the Ampeg 810, but don't like the idea of one heavy cab. Perhaps 2 x 410 cabs? - Budget not too restrictive. Suggestions welcome please!!! Keefman, Yorkshire, UK
