  1. Oh no what have you done? By all accounts TC have misled you - these amps only put out a couple of watts, and use devil trickery to make them sound fabulous and loud. Best you send it on to me to save your disappointment and heartache ;)
    Nice one... Enjoy!

  2. Well these things are totally subjective, hence the vast range of amps available to us to choose from - all with differing size, weight, volume and tone. How do you know what your bass sounds like? Without a completely transparent amplification stage, and completely transparent cab, that is impossible to know. These things will impart a variation on the pure unadulterated tone of the instrument.

  3. The sockets are wired in parallel. One goes to the speaker output of your amp, the other can be connected to another cab. Remember of course the change in impedance when you add another cab like this in parallel - total shouldnt be less than the min rating of your amp.

  4. Size - tick. Weight - tick. design - tick. Volume - double tick. Tone - tick. Versatility - not a big tick. Overall i find the OTB brilliant. However my ABM is better in every respect except weight, in my opinion. This current issue im having hasnt helped either.

    Hi Bruce

Regarding the BG250 combo, a recent review in BGM said it was made in UK. is this the case?

Blimey I didn't spot that. However, I would suggest that might be another BGM typo.... ;)

  6. I gave it a quick shake (ooer missus) - nothing rattling around that I could hear. Unfortunately my time and money is tied up sorting my wedding which is in less than 2 weeks, so this will have to wait until after then. Luckily I have a couple of other amps I can use....

Thanks to all who have chipped in with suggestions, I appreciate it.

  7. I've been using one of these for a year or so, a brilliant bit of gear in my opinion.

The inbuilt condenser mics are pretty good actually, but of course a separate mic may be preferable depending on your needs.
I've multitracked guitar, bass and vocals on it often and it really sounds good. Easy to monitor the tracks with headphones as you lay another one down.

The reverb does help to fill the sound out a bit, especially on vocals. Although I do use it a bit on instruments too sometimes.

Mixing down takes a short while to get the hang of to be honest (will it did for me), and then having to export tracks to the export partition on the memory card takes a bit of time sometimes - but it is worth it actually.

Its small, runs on AAs if necessary, light, and works just as a portable multi-track recorder should.

I've also used it standalone using the inbuilt condenser mics to record some rehearsals. Not ideal, but surprisingly good. I tend to grab the individual tracks off the unit and mix them on my PC, adding some compression to keep things under control, rather than mix down on the unit itself.

  8. For the Beetle Fender Edition, Volkswagen’s renowned coupe is fitted with the award
    winning, high-performance Fender Premium
Audio System. - well that should make it all worthwhile.

What made me really chuckle was the following:
    on models equipped
    with a 200-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged
four-cylinder TSI® engine, special fabric seat
    inserts.

The question is - what colour fabric? Lol

    Cheers
