4. Leuan bought my Boss TU-2 within seconds of me putting it up. All very straight-foward and above board. No problems here so buy/sell with confidence. Perry
5. So, Reign Of Sirius are playing at Grand Central, Manchester in heat one of: METAL TO THE MASSES! We could really use some support as the other bands we are playing with will draw more of a crowd than we can. You know, with them being more 'local' this is how most of these competitions work. The band could be excellent - but if they don't draw a lot of people/fans in it could count against them. The line up is: Chuggernaut - 20:00 20:30 (They sound a lot like The Damned Things IMO, which is never a bad thing) Interception 20:45 - 21:15 (Cracking bunch of lads - Drummer is an anumal!) Reign Of Sirius 21:30 - 22:00 (A gaggle of chumps that want to sound like Kamelot/Nightwish/Dimmu) Dynamo 22:15 - 22:45 (Haven't crossed these guys yet, but i bet they're better than the magician) Pteroglyph 23:00 - 23:30 (Again, not heard of these guys personally but the name piques my interest!) FREE entry if you're over 18+ FREE refusal if you're under 18 Come down, have a natter, laugh at us trying to fit 6 people on Grand Central stage! (I'm not the bassist in RoS - I'm the tall guitaist / only tall one in the whole band!) In the meantime, i've attached a picture of some shoes for you to look at until gig-time! Thanks and much love!
6. thanks, yeah just checked this pops out on positive flow and pops in on negative flow. Still nothing else. Hmmmmmmmm
7. Hey, So the bassist in the band was setting up her rig: Hartke something or other (4OHM)> Zoom B2 > Peavey TVX 4x10 (4OHM) There was no typical bang or pop just didn't get a sound out of it last week. Done the necessary swapping of cabs/leads and determined it is definintely the cab. You can get a tiny little squeak out of it but only the level of a field mouse in a sock. It's a really feint squeak when you touch the lead to the bass with your finger. Any ideas what could have blown. Have checked for cold joints on the solder and all the wiring connections. We're stumped!
8. nothing? A seriously good rock-n-roll guitar right here.
9. Recently bought my SAS360QM but now i've also bought an RGA32 which is better suited to my metal band. Theres no scuffs, bumps or anything, just a teeny bit of buckle mark on the back but not visible unless you're looking for it. I've taken out the stock Tru-Duo coil tapped humbucker in the bridge and replaced it with a Seymour Duncan SH-8 which is coil tapped too for a deep, full (without being muddy) tone when in full 'bucker' mode and that famous fender esc quack when it's tapped! The SAT-PRO II bridge is great, and is set up well and holds tuning better than i'd thought - it's more of a vibrato than a tremolo if you ask me but i only used it for the odd dive-bomb. Beautifully quilted top with incredible abalone and ivory binding which really sets out the superstrat shape. Paid £400 a couple of months ago from a local music shop. Receipts to prove if required. Thanks and i love you, http://www.guitarandampshop.co.uk/ac...info_4744.html < this is what it looks like At an absolute steal for £200 now!!! EXCLUDING P+P
10. We had our debut album launch gig on the 31st... Disaster. Sound is always an issue in a small venue when you're a 6-piece symphonic metal band and coupled with my distressing ability to make anything musical turn microphonic just added to my woes. Being a high-gain kinda guy, i got the inevitable unkillable atomic feedback squeal which forced me on any rests or breakdown chugs to throw my guitar onto the bridge pickup getting a heap of bass and no top end. Then a chavvy friend of a friend of the drummer (whom he has never met) comes clambering onto the stage calling out our drummer to get off stage to back him up because he is getting thrown out due to being a cuuunt. Wrestling with the guitarist and keyboardist we have to stop playing a particularly enjoyable prog bit at the end of our brand new showcase song. Filthy chav shouts out (infront of a full house) "Jake, tell the landlord i'm on medication" To which the drummer gives him an ear full of drumstick and he is quickly removed from the stage... but not before getting tangled up in the other guitarists lead ripping it out and doing some damage to the amp/lead/guitar. Now his guitar sounds like an electrical fire and this prick has got his hands all over the levels on the PA in an embarrassing attemp to stay in the pub as long as it takes. 45 Minutes later when all equipment is fixed we were able to carry on. Most people had left - the landlady was pissed off as hell - it was about 23:30 and we were all in full zombie get up. I just wanted to eat a pint of whisky. Needless to say we only sold about 5 CD's and got a reduced amount for the gig (which i feel was fair due to the sound/bellend issues) In short - could have gone better. Drawing a line under it and have learned to heel punch anyone who tries to get on stage again. There are still some cool video's on the Reign of Sirius channel on youtube www.youtube.com/user/reignofsirius so if you like us, and want our album give me a holla £5 for a physical CD posted out to you or £3.50 for a download via the band promotional site. Peace
11. So, Reign Of Sirius have just been added late to the bill for BOXJAM. A festival run by Oxfam for charity. There are 40 bands on 3 stages. It's at 'The Box' in Crewe and is free entry. R.O.S are opening the Electric stage at 1pm for a full day of electric, acoustic and unplugged sets from many local bands. Come down and show your support...but don't say hi to me - i'm very shy (also i'm not the bassist in this band and therefore do not require speaking to) Peace. more info @ www.boxjam.co.uk
