  2. Uploaded these two clips to You Tube for anyone interested:

1). This is from the encore where they brought out Chris Potter as a special guest on sax. I captured two various excerpts from the solo (so there's a bit of ungainly jump in the video - my video editing skills are non-existent), but worth watching anyway I think.

2). This is Larnell Lewis' drum solo. Such a powerhouse of a drummer (think it affected the sound quality on my video a bit - but it's only shot on my Samsung S7). Watch out for when he takes the kick pedal out - kit malfunction at around 2 min 20 secs).

    Enjoy

  3. I do hope not! Bought two tickets last November for me and my brother-in-law, but he's had to go to Holland on family matters. Shame as he's never seen Snarky Puppy, but loves the stuff I've played him. Be a shame to waste the tickets.

  4. I've got one spare ticket for both these gigs at Cheltenham jazz this Sunday 30th April.

Meshell Ndegeocello is on at 4pm at the Pizza Express Live Arena in the main festival zone. Ticket is in Row F, which I assume is 6th row from front. You'll have to sit next to me! <_<

Snarky Puppy are on at Cheltenham Town Hall at 8pm (this gig is Sold Out). Gig is standing only.

The two venues are pretty near each other.

Looking for face value only for both tickets - £44 in total gets you both gigs.

PM if interested. Probably best to meet at the venue knowing what the post is like these days.

While waiting for my wife and daughter to exhaust the joys of Trafford Park shopping centre I wondered into the John Lewis electronics section. I have never considered noise cancelling cans before but as my tinnitus gets worse I do not like being in noisy situations. I tried to some on and was thrilled with the lack of noise! I do not need them for critical at home listening because I have a pair of Beyer DT770 which are fine and dandy, but the idea of noise cancelling was DEEPLY attractive for out and about.

I tried the Bose 35 something or other, a pair of Beyers and the top of the range Sonys. The Sonys seemed to suit me best (and I guess that is the answer which counts) for silence and music reproduction, but I was wondering if anyone else has any experience?

Might be worth trying the new Flare Audio Isolate ear plugs. They're pretty cheap. Think their site is flareaudio.com

  6. One of my fave you tube videos right now 👍😃

& his solo here with Bill Laurence on Bill's new dvd is amazing. Such feel.

  7. Tickets went on sale today to the general public.

Snapped up my tickets for Snarky Puppy and Me'Shell Ndegeocello on Sunday 30th April. :D

The prices Bass Direct are asking seem a bit over the top.
    [/quote]

The difficulty of a direct-to-customer manufacturer selling thru a retailer. Bass Direct have to pay 20% VAT plus overheads (rent, wages, utilities etc.) & make a profit. If we buy direct from Public Peace some of those elements are removed. I was very fortunate to buy mine recently from a fellow BC-er. I thought the red-burst one Bass Direct have in stock was competitively priced given all of the above & the current exchange rate situation.
