3.
awww man im feeling your pain with this one dude. And having to flog it all so cheap. Sorry for you mate. Someone will be getting the bargain of the decade with this. Trust me, these V Type amps are the dogs taters! best bit of kit i ever bought was one and its never leaving my side. Sorry again mate.
Thanks that man - This is my pride and joy and the best I have ever had BUT alas ....... has to go! Surely a steal for someone now at £750 with a 1*15 - Hell the head alone is worth that!!!
 4. **** PRICE REDUCTION **** OK - things are now DESPERATE and my wife wants her pound of flesh. The rig (V4 Amp & 1*15 cab) can be had for £750 - given that the heads often (when you can find one) go for £650+ this is a steal - check out the pics. BARGAIN ANYONE? - Pickup in Oxford (5 mins off J8 M40)

I also share your locality as I live just down the road in Eynsham. This forum is great fun, much better than Facebook! Hang in there mate - it gets better. Paul
Thanks Paul, sometimes it's hard to see a way forward BUT I know that there is light!....and there is always bass playing!!! - selling off the stuff is a bummer but my collection is maybe a tad excessive. Need to move my TE rig - any takers? Jake

 18.
I think you may struggle to get that as a rig but if you sell the three parts seperately you should get £1000 Good luck
Cool - txs for the input. I've downgraded my asking price to £850 on the basis that the heads alone get £5-600 when they crop up. Cheers Jake
 19. Hi - I'm sure that others will have said the same thing, he's breaking all the ebay rules! I have bought/sold over 1500 items on ebay and I can state categorically that the ebay team want to know about people like your man. A sale is a sale - he listed with a P&p price I assume - that has nothing to do with what it sold for and whether he was happy or not. Outrageous. He should have put a reserve on it! Anyway - I am new around here (http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=128723&st=0#entry1174825) but was cruising to see what things sell for (I have been accumulating for years and never getting rid of things) - now's the time AND I have just listed my prized V-Type all valve head with cabs in the for sale area on this site - I thought maybe that might be of interest? Cheers Jake
 20.
Same as my rig - except 2x10 instead of 4x10 Great rig - have a bump on me
So what d'ya think on price? - about right? Cheers jake
 21.
You're going to need to put a price on it... Good luck with the sale!
Thanks for the advice, as I say I really have no idea and can't even find a listing anywhere for a similar rig - finger in the air....£1,000 about right?, feels right-ish to me)
 22. [sup]Major bummer.[/sup] **** NOW £750 for the V4 Head and 1*15 cab (2 by 10 is sold) **** For those that haven't seen my intro (http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=128517) I only joined a couple of days ago, I am pending divorce and house sale and as a consequence most of my 50 basses/guitars are about to hit the streets....along with them goes some of my amps & pedals etc etc etc... If you are looking at this then I guess you already know that this is genuine Rocking-Horse-Sh1t. This my rig of preference and it's seen some sterling service over the last decade or so. I used to use SVT's but frankly I prefer the KT88 sound of these V-type heads. Clearly the rig is used BUT not abused. The amp has no rips in the covering at all ( afew marks and that's it), the cabs are the carpet covering type and so are a bit bobbly and, as it's been stored in my garage they need a good brush over! I fitted the extra-strong wheels to both cabs a few years ago to make life easier! It's 220 Watts RMS into 8 ohms & 440 peak - stick it into 4 ohms and take the roof off, the windows out and flatten the neighbourhood. Anyway, it's gotta go - along with the cabs as shown in the pics, a TE 1*15 & a TE 2*10....... as a whole this mother moves air, is fat and warm and round and punchy and dynamic and and and......enough (I'm gonna burst into tears here). So what's it worth? - as always when you sell something it's worth what someone is prepared to pay - make me an offer! - I genuinely have no idea BUT I have seen the heads go for loads ....be gentle!! - Having said that there is a deal to be done - needs must at this end. I was looking at £1,000 for the rig - maybe it's worth more, maybe it's less - but £1,000 feel about right as the heads alone fetch £5-600+ and a similar head with 1 cab just sold for a grand.....(don't really want to split it). Having said that I'd be happy to let the head and 1*15 go for £850 if you can't afford the lot - I might be losing my rig but that way at least I'd get to keep a cab which I could partner with something else (it'll never be the same though!) Lastly, if you know these things you will know that they are all individually HEAVY - put them together and you need to strengthen your floorboards......this means pick-up only form Oxford I'm afraid or sorting out some way to get them picked up. Sad.
 23.
I hope my misses doesn't get any ideas After 24 years she still tolerates me! Sorry to hear your predicament and if I get the chance I will relieve you of the Epiphone - 5 string acoustic
Thanks for the welcome, the Eppie is here and needs a good new home - unmarked, new set of strings from Chris at Overwater. I'll post some pics!
 24. Another Newbie from Oxford, the sun must be bringing us out of the woodwork. Welcome to us both!
 25. Hi everyone, and a special Hi to anyone who cares to read this post from a newcomer! Seems like Oxford is the place to be for newness! Anyway I'm Jake and I've been playing bass since I was 13 …which is one hell of a long time ago now - put it this way, The Beatles hadn't split up and it was Mr McCartney who made me want to play bass. The thing is, and I know I'm preaching to the converted here as you are all bass-heads, those other guys in any band think that bass is boring and at the back - what they fail to understand is that the bass, along with drums (god bless good drummers), provides the engine room and that we have total control over where the flow goes….ahead, behind, punctuated, accented, doubled, flicked whatever - darn cool place to be when you master it (so I'm told, …I'm still trying!). Anyway - I've been playing a long time and along the way have amassed a stupid collection of basses, guitars, effects, amps and studio gear - so stupid that after 33 years of putting up with me and my 'stuff' my wife has left me - Harumph …… and now I'm faced with a divorce and having to clear out loads of things. There's bay and then I thought, why not dive into a specialist forum - I have tons of things that you guys might want…so keep an eye out for some listings soon. As a taster I have 33 basses and 18 guitars…. and no I don't just collect, I play and have done a few different things over the years. I'm lucky to have a studio with more gear than many commercial enterprises and on the instrument front I have basses from John Entwhistle (god rest his soul, sad but I just know he went out smiling!), wondrous masterpieces from Chris May at Overwater (4, 6 and a fretless 4) and Rob Green at Status (fretted and fretless 5 string status 2's in woods to die for). A friend of mine remarked once a few years ago that 'it costs >£500 to change the strings in your house!' - he wasn't wrong, but he underestimated! So, the time has come to offload some gems, some effects and some amps (V-type Trace elliot with cabs anyone? - valve heaven….move that air!). Still got the Ricky 4001 stereo & Fender P-Bass that I bought when I was signed in 1974 - and the funny thing is I'll probably end up just keeping those 2, oh, and maybe my Overwater Progress 6 …. and then maybe the status pair …… and then there is…..! See the problem? BUT they have to go, I have to sell the house and move on so my loss could be your gain. I've browsed some of the discussions and this looks like a really helpful & friendly forum - I look forward to joining in - I might be selling a load of stuff but playing is in my blood and I ain't ever gonna give that up. Hope to exchange views, info, pics with some of you soon. This'll be me signing off with a very loud low B, don't you just love the bottom end? From Oxford - cheers guys. Jake
