1. Just to say just picked up my 2 new warwick neos off ste yet another top bloke to deal with on bass chat, perhaps if i met some bad guys it would save me cash.

Once again thanks ste for a nice smooth deal and best of luck with te Glastonbury gig.

    cheers steve

  2. I have to admit to my shame that having gone to grammar school i played the southern softie version ( no offence meant) though i did play proper rugby for the civil service.

The facilities in union were better ie there was a clubhouse and a bar and we got to travel round the country on nice coaches getting very drunk, and occaisionally you found brown envelopes in your boots.

Have to admit to being a better rugby player than bassist ! although that's not saying much.

When younger used to think it wa the ultimate buzz now wish i'd discovered the bass sooner maybe would have kept me out of trouble and the divorce court eh.

  3. Morning all

Have been a member for a while now and have bought and sold a few items so thought maybe its about time i introduced myself.

Started playing bass or should i say messing around on one when my unspectacular rugby career came to a halt due to old age and a dodgy back, was badly self taught until about 6 months ago when i decided to get some lessons and my bass tutor pointed me in the direction of basschat and introduced the world of gas to me and my bank balance has sufered badly ever since

currently play in a covers band " Imposter" ( because we are definitely not the real deal ) "

At the moment my gear consists of

    Lakland Skyline Bob Glaub

Musicman stingray 3eq ( bought from old horse murphy )

Ampeg svt 3( bought from Thunderthumbs )

Warwik 611 pro( bought from Tonyf )

    Ashdown mag 410

and on friday am picking up 2 warwick neos bought from ste in fact as you can see most of my current gear is a result of dealings on here, have found everyone i have dealt with really great and extremely helpful, and i have got some really useful info out of the forum about all things bass, long may it continue.

anyway thats enough inane babble for the time being

    cheers steve

  4. Karl if your young and have plenty of lifting in you i have a warwick 611 pro, which as i am not young and have no lifting in me have had to replace with 2 warwick neos, have always found warwicks great value for money it's a great cab but my poor old back won't take any more, in wigan myself let me know if it's of any interest there could be a bargain to be had.

  5. Due to the impending arrival of 2 warwick neo's bought on here from ste, i now have for sale my Warwick 611 pro.

I bought this about 4 months ago on here from tony f, however a deteriorating back has meant i've had to go lightweight.

The cab is the 6 ohm version as opposed to the newer 4 ohm version, although tony checked it out with warwick they said it is actually 5.3 ohms, whatever this is a huge sounding cab rated at 900 watts.

It is in mint condition and you will see the front grill has been refinished to remove the huge W and for me it looks much better.

This has got to go i have no room so i will take 200 quid for it, absolute bargain price for a great cab.

would obviously prefer collection due to size, however am prepared to meet up or could be persuaded to deliver if you live in the north west.

    cheers steve

  6. Just testing the water have an Ashdown MAG410 cab that i'm looking to part with to raise some cash towards a lightweight cab to use for small gigs, after nearly putting my back out trying to get my 611 up 2 flights of stairs on saturday night.

Have had this from new and it is in really good nick, has been gigged twice and never pushed, other than that only used for about 3 rehearsals and at home, the blurb says it's rated as 450 watts at 8 ohms.

Will put some pictures up later as i'm at work at the mo, am looking for about 100 quid for it, collection is obviously preferred but am quite prepared to meet up somewhere or even deliver if it's local, i'm in Wigan.

have added a couple of pictures though not great quality, this has to go as i've just bought ste's warwick neos and i need the space

    cheers steve

  7. Just testing the water, i got this bass from Ishibashi in December but the subsequent aquisition of a Lakland BG and Nicks( Old Horse ) stingray, mean i just can't see it getting a look in, So i am looking to move it on , it is the 57-78US model in vintage white with a maple board, body is ash and it has US pick ups, i have replaced the white pickguard with an allparts black pearl, but will include the original and another plain black one in the sale.

Am looking for £400 collected or £425 posted , bass has not been gigged or even rehearsed. If you want any more info on the spec it is on the web site would put the link on but i'm rubbish with pc's if anyone wants anymore info please feel free to pm me.

  8.
Steve, have a free bump on me.

Just to help everyone out....Steve may officially be a "newbie", but he bought my Ampeg SVT-3 Pro from me last week, and we chatted for about an hour when he collected it (sorry Steve, I really should've got a brew on - and my dog would've licked you to death :)). We've also spoken a couple of times since, so I can say honestly, I think you'll be safe buying from him.....a really genuine bloke.

    Cheers,
    Pete.
Thanks for that Pete

  9. Hello to everyone am fairly new to Basschat have not really posted but have bought a couple of items off the guys on here and have been really pleased and met some top blokes.

Anyway i have for sale my 1999 US Fender Jazz, have owned this from new and has been my main Bass since, but the impending arrival of a stingray means i am looking to move this on.

The Bass originally had a Maple neck with Rosewood fret board but some time ago i replaced this with an allparts neck with maple board and pearl block inlays, This was fitted by a local guitar tech and overall the bass is in A1 condition, has recently had a set up and been fitted with a new set of Roto's.

At the moment has a white pearl scratchplate, but will include the original white one and a tort one as well, Will include a gigbag as i need to keep the original case for another bass, hope this explains everything anyone has any more questions feel free to pm me.

I am looking for £425 including postage or £400 if you want to collect

Apologies in advance for the photo's i'm about as good with a camera as i am with computers.

    NOW AVAILABLE AGAIN

    Cheers steve
