Did someone say White Rabbit?
Well, I've always enjoyed this post punk/psyche early 80's very messy self indulgent wig out by The Damned. Featuring some very up front Ric bass and lovely not quite in tune vocals by Dave Vanian.

What's the rest of the band doing? They should all sticking to the correct tempo with you?
Sadly, slowing down with him as I turn round and shout "IT'S TOO F*****G SLOW!". I have bitched about it many times and occasionally it sinks in.
My current friendly little nudge before slightly faster songs is "Pace it, don't race it".

The drummer can't speed up if the bass player doesn't.
Oh he can! Though usually for me, he slows down and I am trying to push the pace, but he is unaware.

I sincerely hope for your health and safety's sake that your bandmate drummer has a lot more patience and restraint than I. A pedagogic approach of this nature would, at a minimum, be met by me with a deft drumstick through the offending metronome, and a fair few Anglo-Saxon words and phrases that would make my displeasure clear to all around. Still, if it works for you both...
And my bass would be around his head!
It's just a frustration that I am dweling on too much, but it could be a quick and easy fix.
Obviously I did employ a little artistic licence for comedic effect. I would just hold it close enough so he was aware and could act upon it.

I think having 1 person in the band to count in all songs can give a bit of consistency to start tempo. The number of times I've played in bands where another musician (usually the guitarist) would start the song at a totally different speed due to nerves / adrenalin / last song played / they just feel like it! 🤣
In my band we try not to leave much space between songs and use the drummer as the focal point. They're queing up the next tempo whilst the guitarist checks tuning or someones changing patches etc. Everyone knows who does the count in and should there be any technical problems they can signal to the drummer to hold off. It seems quicker and pretty efficient.
I agree that it's everyones responsibility to keep time together but it's the drummers role to provide the pulse that we keep time to. If the drummer can't keep to the rehearsed beat then you've got problems...... I'm in the house band for a local jam (so no real pressure on getting things right) and we regularly play "Le Grange" which on the record is about 160bpm. The guitarist always starts it off about 170bpm and by the end of the song we've achieved 190+bpm Our drummer is usualy solid but for whatever reason on that one, goes astray 🤣
Well ours would start at 190 and it would end at 140. 🙄

I don't know why drummers insist on counting in the band.
It's not the drummers responsibility to keep the band in time. I wish more drummers and musicians recognised that.
If he can't stay in time with the rest of the band he needs to go away and practice drumming.
Now that is another very big can of worms recently opened.

Do you have to shove it in his face? If not, can I suggest you get a vibrating metronome, because I can think of a better place to 'shove it'.
😂
Shoving it in his face allows me to say "THIS SPEED!" at him and for him not pretend he wasn't aware. If I get a confirmation then I'm part way happy.

Can it be a phone app?
There are quite a few with visual indicators
I think stand alone would be better.

Wotcha
Well, as it says above (but add in cheap). Anything anyone can suggest? I want to be able to biff in the bpms and hit go and a big assed light begins to flash.. so I can shove that in our drummers face so he can count in songs at the right speed. (Something he seems to think only he can do).
Thankee.

I'm sure it would have been mentioned already but I'm not trawling through previous posts..
That appalling barsteward Chris De Burgggghhhhhaaah and Lady In Red. I will instantly boot my radio out of the window should that dare to be played over the airwaves.

I particularly can't abide that faux Irish twaddle that Ed Sheeran plopped out.. Galway Girl?
"Oh I had a little fiddle with an Irish man,
in the back of his Transit van.
He said "I'll do it to you everyway I can".
then hit me round the head with a frying pan."

That's just reminded me of another absolutely dreadful pile of crap - Lip Up Fatty by Bad Manners. Dance floor rammed with people doing imitations of Spotty Dog from the Woodentops.
Spotty Dog!! You've made my day

Many, many, many.
I do loathe Layla (as already mention above), it just goes on and on. And also in the same vein, Hotel California. The end is on continual repeat to the point I imagine the studio crew there whilst recording it were close to topping themselves after the 2nd listen through.

Yes. An acrylic bass, 5-string with LEDs. One of the LEDs at the 24th fret didn't work so they sent me out a replacement neck. That was Music Zoo. Quality was good, fretwork well finished. It's a passive bass so no issues with preamp. I'll be replacing the strings at some point but they're usable.
Ooh! Post a pic please 🙂

So sorry to read your news Ray.
I would totally recommend making Basschat your first port of call for selling. It's a fantastically supportive community of like minded people. A much better experience than the wild west that is eBay and FB Marketplace.
Very best wishes.

One of my all time favourites!
The dog getting involved, his slippers, the nice shirt for the video, the crappy trousers that weren't expected to be seen, his wife trying to help, how long he stays under the piano, the Brian May photo.. 🤣
There is a little more where he yells at the dog "you either in or out!".
I did a very poor remix of it to a techno backing track 😉

We've had some some made by this lot. About £6 per t-shirt. Took about three weeks for the first run, only about a week for the second. I guess it takes longer to get the initial thing made up.
Do you know what the print medium was?
I have used Streetshirts.co.uk in the past and found the print quality good. Very like screen printed ink, probably direct-to-garment. The online "design" app is a bit pants though. They often run deals like free delivery. Oh printing on the rear of the shirt is a simple option with them too.
I did a simple design for the band to have a shirt each and one of our fav punters and used tshirtstudio it seems more like a transfer print which I don't like but the quality is fine.
Both the above are reasonably cheap and do quantity discounts.

Bit of a confused term anyway really. Mariah Carey? Rock 'n' Roll.. nah I really don't think so. Pop Hall Of Fame, sure.

The bars have about halved in size too - halved in size & doubled in price = 400%, so really not worth buying.
Shrinkflation as they call it. It's very noticeable in a wide and varied selection of food products.
