If there is some of it still proud of teh body, you will need to take the bridge off and use a set of Vise/Molegrips on the end.
If its level with the top of the body its best left to an expert as you need to drill it out (that is unless you are confident enough to do it?).
PS depends what bass it is.... The Badass on my H1 P bass doesnt actually touch all teh way 'round as teh body is contoured. Not a problem just poor design. -
Does anyone know of anywhere based in the UK or Ireland that I could buy a Wal bass from?
Was so flipped out by them that I now have Nylon wounds on one of my PRSs and on my Ovation semi. Those tho' are GHS Nylons as the tone lasts better and they come in smaller gauges....
I ilke them..... if you play Blues and early RnB as I do you may like them.... It helps having a valve driven pre amp tp play them through.... they have a certain something......
PS tried a set of Gallis.... I didnt like them..... if you like a fat un, Rotos are fine, if you prefer 45-100s GHS are better than Rotos.
These puppies....

Ahhhhhaaaaa.....
Another convert.... ! (good aint they!)
Now I'm after a 2x10 and 1x15 Powerhouse cabs for a 'blow your socks off' rig so I can practice with it in the scout cab and 'let its hair down' when I need too!

Pm'd re nut....

Yep isnt it? I've been watching necks..... It seems a shame that they can break them up and sell them for as much or more than a complete bass-
Way of the world?
Hi Bob,
hehe, she'll still be getting a dose of the blues.
ive recently re-discovered an artist from my youth "Ram John Holder",seriously nice early british blues !!
Without wanting to enter into the "teaching ya'll how to suck eggs"syndrome,if you're not familliar with his stuff you should check him out.there's a few tracks on his "myspace"site from his album black london blues.I prefer one of his other albums though "bootleg blues",deffo in my top 5 albums of all time.Could i find it online though, not a chance.
enjoy.
Btw,he was one of the characters in The desmonds, porkpie i think.
Pete,
Yehayy, more Brit stuff to check out... I have quite a bit of early Calpton and obviously John Mayall, but no he's new to me so thanks for teh heads up....
My dad was born and rasied in Arkansas and worked in Alabama for some time before joining the Air force and coming here so I guess Delta blues is in the blood (or at least the appreciation of it) ....
Not long now bud..... I felt a little tug at the heart strings this morning packing the Bobanez up, however its going to a good home I've sussed that out!
Better still a fellow blues fan.... -
Now sold and on its way to its new home in Preston.....
Matt you can close this thread now thanks -

I use Tetra gun grease but I wouldnt expect you'll have a tube of that lying around will you!

Read this and then go to a shop having taken the advice.....
http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=8009 -
Ask for the scartch plate to be supplied but left off (they will do that) I think they look loads better without them....
And if youre having darker fretboard you could ask for gold hardware or black that's be ace....
-
Anyone wanting a good noodler for the corner of the room...
This is a bargain if you can get it at the start price!
With a little work (easy) and a good set of strings these are good fun.... Neck was too skinny for me, that why I sold mine..!
enjoy....
I shouldn't waste your time trying to analyse it. Some people are just confrontational, boring, jaded, passive aggressive and hypocritical. Some pull all these off at once!!
And you might want to add very brave when ther are miles and miles away from those they are abusing.....!
I use schallers with a touch of loktite and have never had a problem.
+1
C'mon guys it aint rocket science...... 1 drop of Loctite.....

Now you've got me stumped- I cant see it being a dead spot or it shoudl eb the same with teh other amp.... can you try another head....
so same bass lead and cab but different head? -
Switching in and out whilst playing just gets you aloud pop and more output...
Why would you want to....?
My PRSs are switchable but I use them with it on in the active input on my Mesa.... or in teh passive input with it off and no its doesnt sound teh same..... Has far more depth with it on....
My active Fender P is a nightmare when its on but beautful when played as a pasive P .....
My (new to me) Ovation is only active (pluging in the jack activates the preamp) and is just superb.....
If you have a weak amp or are playing lightyears away from it then, active is means to an end but it is necassary?
Nope...
A more verastile amp and pre amp (even a valve driven preamp stomp box) make more difference than adding an active cricuit ....IMHO of course...
