1. As I have a new project on the rise I need to thin out the herd a little. This is the only one that I am prepared to let move onto a new home.

Bought new by me and really not used, this is as new. I have fitted a D-tuner, and flatties (D'addario Chromes) but other than that nothing really. OHSC and lots of goodies. Its not registered as a 10 top but is as good as some 10's I've seen. I also haven't seen any finished in clear like this to show off the grain and woodwork.

£1200 and may accept a decent 6 string accoustic in P/ex, Ovation, Fender, Taylor Takamine WHY.

Its the one on the left of these two. PM or email for more indepth details or more pics.

NO LONGER FOR SALE AS MONEY NO LONGER REQUIRED.

  2.
Hey Bob
Hope all's well mate. I'd happily taker this back for what I sold it for or thereabouts. Let me know if that's a goer?
    Cheers

Chris you have first dibs if thats where he's thinking. I have emailled him for you and replied to your PM.... :)

  3.
Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting a DHA VT1 Bass Drive, and I was just wondering what tones can you get from this pedal?

I'm looking for a warm fuzz, so you can still hear the bass underneath and it doesn't turn into a guitar (a problem I've had with previous bass distortion pedals). Would this pedal be able to provide this sound? Or is there a better option from DHA? (I'd really love to buy one, they look really good, and I've never haeard a bad word about them).

    Thanks guys!
Not quite the same but I have a VT-1 EQ- drive, which has the same stuff as the drive but lots more too. I bought it to 'dirty up' the tone out of a D class digi amp, which I guess is what you want to do.

It does it very well and produces a good variety of drive from just a bit of boost to well over-driven boost. I am impressed with it and it does exactly what I want from it and some other stuff besides.....

  4. This bass I bought from Beedster in '08 and owned it happily 'til last year when my best mate and geetard bought it from me. As a dyed in the wool 6 string player he fancied the odd noodle and really liked this one so persuaded me to let it go.
sadly after playing it a few times in earnest he has now found out it causes him some discomfort to play bass so would like to make it available for someone else to enjoy. I would have it back but dont like the narrow neck (1-1/2 nut width) and really dont need it now I have the fretless PRS.

These are rarer that rockin' hoss poo in the UK and not many more in the US either, they do not come up for sale on either here or ebay.

Set up by me, it is a good low fast action and produces a lovely tone with the nylon flatwounds that are on it. It is in excellent condition, and has the Ovation HSC with it.

Here is the Ovation link -

Neale hasn't given me the price he wants for it but if anyone is interested contact me by PM and I'll put you in touch with him. He can and will provide any HD digi pics by email to those with a genuine interest.

  5.
great piece of work.

    Not cheap though
Its cheaper than it was going to be - I originally wanted a LM 250 top put in the box..... :) That being said it was an exercise - I loved the PJB / LM250 idea the only thing that put me off was the lack of Valvey tone - (so thanks to Mr Hall for putting that right!)
This is fantastic. How does it sound compared to how it was? I remember my Cube 30 being a great sounding little unit with the Roland amp in it, but unsure how much of that was down to the box.
Errrrrrr it doesnt sound a bit like the Cube, and I do have a reference as my first practice amp was a cube30X - Please don't take offence but this is a proper rig set up - it competes with my geetard's 50w valve amp on equal terms. :)
Nice bit of work there.

As an aside, how's the PJB? It's one of the small heads on my shortlist to drive a couple of BFM J10s
Well when I first fired it up I thought it was a bit weak as an 'up to 200w' head (me being used to Mesa's), but this was clearly an input issue - boosted by the DHA this is easily gig-able and would compete with a drum-kit or, mic'd would kick ass equally to a bigger rig. I am thoroughly impressed by this little unit and how it performs - The only mildy annoying issue is a lack of line in input to play an MP3 but then with a different preamp/mixer this issue could be sorted. - I would have no hesitation in recommending the PJB kit on the basis of this one.

I now live in a much smaller place and semi-detached, so I cannot now wind it up even to 1/2 way - :D

  6. Hmmmm leaving it standard looking couldnt really be done as the PJB couldnt be slipped in anywhere whilst the Roland amp lump was in it...

Just been playing my new pimped fretless through this and I just realised what a clever little monster this is -18v preamp into the DHA and the PJB = Stand back or your it makes your kidneys hurt !

    :) :)

  7. Here's mine.

I use it with a DHA VT1 EQ bass drive to create valve tone - Its not a Mesa but then it does break your back every time you move it.
    :)

  8. Its a private stock so someone spec'd it like that - Dont blame the 'shop for making it, blame the odd person that wanted it like that.... :)

Isn't this the one that was for sale on Thomann not long back...? £5k or something similar. My guess a cancelled order.

There's a lot of Private stock that is freakishly odd - but then there's some pretty odd folk out there!

It's an incredilble bass but that has been well and truly battered by the fugly stick - but then I don't like purple basses anyway.

If you want so see how utterly gorgeous these can be, go to the PRS website, go to Private stock and check out #1607 -
    Drop dead gorgeous!
The person that ordered the OP one here should be taken outside and fed to the poor.......

  9. 3 makes of nylon wounds -

    Rotosounds (as above)

    D'Addario

    GHS.

And wipe a cloth with anitsceptic hand gel and clean them after each playing -

    Sorted.

(BTW if your wondering if they are any good - Herbie Flowers uses them listen to some of the stuff he's played on)

  10. get some very thin rigid plastic sheet and cut a u slot in it. The width of your frets. masking tape the closed end (bottom of the U ) to the back of the neck with the the bottom of the U just below where the fret tang ends in the fingerboard wood. Pull the other 2 pieces tight over the finger board and file from the playing surface of the fret down towrds the body of the neck. Filing any other way could loosen the fret.

Oh and off to repairs and tech.

  11. My finished uber black PRS fretless, This has been 2 years in the waiting and making....!

  12.
It's actually a factory fretless - one of the first, in fact. It's a beautiful neck, with a warm glowing headstock, and beautiful rosewood grain.

Basically, the neck really needs to be desssed, but the rosewood cap is getting a bit thin.

I thought that getting it Thor'd - in satin - would be the sensible thing to do to keep the neck alive, and visually keep it pretty faithful.

Instead, it's stored in the cupboard and I have a (very nice) replacement neck on there. Had the neck gone off the get epoxied, I wouldn't have regretted it.
In those circs then mate, I'd say its a no brainer - get it done. The fretboard needs renovating so even if its original, then its not like it will have mahoosive value because everyone wants mint unused not renovated stuff (FFS you know what I mean, you've seen it - getting hung up abut solder joints.... :)) and as soon as the board has been replaced/renovated its no longer original.

Send it off, release its tone and play it!

Do you want to borrow my purpose made shipping tube...? Go on you know you are thinking about it...! :)
