1. When designing electrics for buildings you can't avoid having 3 phases close to each other. You need to assume any 2 sockets used could easily have 415V between them. It wouldn't be such a bad idea IMHO to have it as a band rule that everyone uses an RCD and if you can, get an earth lead out from your own gear and clamp it to the earth (mic-stand?) of any other gear about so much the better.

Remember it takes no more than 30mA through your body to kill you, whatever the voltage.

2. All the glue ideas are really good, but if you can also "pin it" that would be better - What I mean here is drill into the body and the horn, then push a pin in to the body and the other half pushes into the horn so you have a pin helping to stop it breaking off again.

In order to get it to sit propperly you may need to drill an-oversized hole and use a filler to take up the space round the pin - maybe loads of superglue?

After fixing, if I were you, I would then strip the body down and get a good re-spray... but I guess it all depends on the value of the bass and the cost.

Err... just seen, you say cracks in the neck pocket?
Write it off - strip the parts (you never know...) and get a new bass. You can pick up some good deals right now.

3. Hi there,
I traded already. I went to Bass Gallery in London and fell in love with a Warwick Streamer.

Thanks all the same. I hope you find what you're looking for.
This is where I went : http://www.thebassga...rice_Order=NONE

I went there in person and they were really helpful. Their basses are really well set up and they carry more than the usual Fender, Ibanez, Squier etc.

4. No offence Mofo46, but setting up a Fender shouldn't be too hard to do yourself. Have you tried?
You will get the info you need at www.fender.com/support/articles/bass-guitar-setup-guide and other vids on Youtube.

I on'y ever paid once for a set up. - the worst £100 I ever spent. Also I found it's really rewarding once I'd had a few goes.

Good luck.

6. I know there is a guitar store in St Albans. I was there the other day.
Why not ask them to put a notice up in the store advertising for any like-minded folk to call you. You can then talk to a local pub and start one.

You could also try talking to the library. They would let you put a notice up there too.

I think it's the "Fighting Cocks" near the Abbey that has Morris Dancing sometimes? Try there, you never lknow....

Other wise there is one in Bishops Stortford, but it's a bit of a trek from St Albans.

7.
Hey Bouvier,

I have an Eros Mark 3 (I think!?) Japanese Jazz Bass copy - judging by its age and the condition I bought it in (1996) it looks late 70's era...Funilly enough I'd say it has a much nicer sunburst finish than any Fender (I own Fenders', too, btw) and with the chrome bridge and neck pick up covers with black scratch plate I think it looks great - this was/is, I hasten to add, the first bass I bought and learned on! Pickups are pretty terrible but I guess that's part of the charm.
Who knows, may be the same bass you once owned - FYI I bought it in a 2nd hand music store in Kings Lynn, Norfolk - I now reside in London.
I too have an Eros short/s bass. Mine's a black Fender copy with a white scratch plate, 1 pickup and chrome pickup cover, and a maple neck. Mine was bought s/hand in the late 70's. It's hardly been played, but it's got good tone. I'm new to bass and having upgraded I was thinking of selling the Eros, but having read this I'm having second thoughts. I'll maybe hang on and see if I like the tone it gives.
