Hello
Every now and then I see some very cheap basses up on Ebay. One that has caught my eye is a through-neck from Harper, like this one: Harper bass on Ebay
Every time I look at these things I hear echoes of old words of wisdom - Buy cheap, pay twice.
So...what are these basses like? With modern factories, it is possible to make good things cheaply. But would this bass fall into that category? Am I being too old fashioned by thinking that anything that cheap can't be any good? And I mean good as in good, not "good enough for a beater" or "good enough at that price" or anything. Of course it won't be a patch on a lovingly handmade beauty, but would it even approach, say, Fender Mexico levels of good?
