But he offers them for sale, so you'd think he would have them to hand, or at least order them in suficiently early enough, must be just me I suppose.

  2. I've been using an Epi 3x10 for a few months now, it's one of the newer series 2 cabs.

It's a great sounding cab, it has a really nice bass response without being 'boomy', and a nice high end, it's a bit big though, that's the only real thing wrong with it, it's probably a bit bigger than some 4x10's.

They do have their own sound though, so you do need to try it before you buy it.

  3. Try this place, very nearly half the UK price and you should get them within a few days, I tend to buy a couple of sets at a time to save on postage.

  4. I had one a few years ago.

I found that the EQ section was very limited, especially the mid section, there wasn't enough control at the correct frequencies.

Others have found this too, I remember seeing a review in bassplayer magazine, and also I think I've seen the same thing said on talkbass.

  5. I've seen Steve Lawson use his, he gets some great sounds from it....but from what I hear they aren't very easy to program, but once you have then there's no looking back.

Did this come with the floor unit as well ?.

I've been using a TC M-one XL for the last few months which I really like, I'm not too good at programming things, or adjusting parameters, I find the M-one to be a plug in and play thing.

I'd definately like to try a G2 though, the reverbs are meant to be class.

  6. I remember years ago, I used to spend most of my pocket money on guitar mags.

There used to be a magazine called Music UK, one of the first ones that I bought featured some reviews of ER basses built by Manson, I think there was a 5 string and an 8, I can't remember the other, but for their time, the designs were years ahead of what everyone else was doing.

  7. A very, very nice bass.

Burr myrtle facings on an ash body.

Bartolini pickups and a John East preamp.

The neck profile is great, and best of all it just doesn't move.

The sounds available are amazing, deep and full, yet bright and clear, no deadspots and great sustain.

Those two plus Gary Willis, that would be fantastic.

  9. I've bought a few things from them over the years, whenever I go in the shop I always sort of get the impression that they'd rather I hadn't.......strange really because I kind of thought that they were there to sell me things.

They don't seem to have grasped the concept of seller/buyer.

Something wierd that happened regarding one purchase from them..................I bought a Roscoe from them about two years ago, it was a commission sale.

Anyway, about two months ago I had a phone call from the basscentre asking if I still had the receipts for it, he sounded pretty desperate and wasn't at all happy when I told him I hadn't................sounds like something similar to the other replies from people who've had problems with commission sales.

I've had loads off stuff from the Gallery, their prices............I find anyway are competitive, and their customer service is excellent.

I'm about to order an F-bass from bass central in the US, they really have embraced the customer service ethic, they answer emails promptly, and seem to go out of their way to be helpful.
