I'm selling a number of my basses to raise the funds for a Wal 4 string..
This listing is for my Veillette Citron fretless 4 string - issue No 232 (of just over 250). Ebony fretboard, 24 frets, in Green with a mock Snake/croc strap. Pictures do not do this justice and additional pics can be sent/added to interested buyers.
Formerly owned by Nick (Doctor of the Bass) who I'm sure is happy to give a review of this fine instrument. Since buying it with battered paint work, the bass has been completely stripped, stained, oiled and sealed, new Schaller machine heads installed and set up by Terry Chapman, Luthier -
- (as used by BCer, Lozz196)...
This is a genuine rare instrument - VC built about 500 instruments during their existence from the late 70s to 1983 of which "about" 250 were basses. There are probably less than 10 in the UK (the red burst in the pics being one of the others). Apparently some were completed and sold after the company folded which went out without serial Nos being recorded. Philw may be able to provide more info as the current UK importer for Veillette basses. Notable users of VC include Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads.
These sell for over $1,000 - recently saw one for sale in Europe for 2500 euros - I'm asking £650 ONO which, I believe, is a very fair price for this fine instrument. I invite interested buyers to try and buy before parting with any cash...
