New skin

What was wrong with the old skin. I dont like the new one, it doesnt give me anything and I would like to keep the old one - but it seems I cant select it any more. It seems pretty arbitrary to force a new skin on people just because its "new" and "cool".

  12. For sale, Warwick Streamer STD, December 1999. £275 UK posted, or collect from Worcester Park, Surrey and save yourself £20. Its a really great bass, lovely sound, very easy to play and a suprisingly good range of sounds from the single passive humbucker. Two controls, volume and tone and you can pull up the volume knob to put the humbucker in series or parallel respectively. This was my first Warwick and I've been really impressed with it. Only selling because I just bought a Corvette $$. This is a proper German Warwick, NOT a "rockbass". The previous owner who bought it new, only used it for recording (he upgraded to a Thumb). Since I had it I've not gigged it and taken care of it so it's in excellent condition with only a couple of insignificant dings, these should be visible from the photos. Specifications: * 4 string * Single Passive MEC soapbar pickup (Standard factory pickup) * Brass frets (24) * Adjustable nut * 3 piece ovankol neck * Wenge fretboard * Carolena body * Natural finish * Chrome Warwick hardware * Made in Germany (1999 serial number) * Serial Number L ****** 99 verified by Warwick as a genuine Streamer STD Looking for £250, UK posted. Sensible offers considered. No gig-bag I'm afraid but it will be well packed for posting. If you can collect from Worcester Park Surrey, I'll knock £20 off the price. £230 for a genuine Warwick - thats a steal ! Now the pics: Bass in a variety of poses: Body: Headstock: This is the (minor) ding:
  13.
There's a great Yamaha fretless 6 on eBay, the sellers name looks awfully familiar I heard varied reviews on those Mazeti etc. Some very good, some very bad. I'be heard good stuff about Harley Benton bring good for the price. Have to say though, that I have no personal experience of either...
Harley Benton is very good value for the price. I bought a fretless 5, think I paid around £130. After about 18 months I did outgrow it but not before I had a pretty good feel for both fretless and 5 strings - exactly why I bought it. I did a couple of gigs with it and got complements on the looks and the sound. Anyway I now have a more expensive fretless 4 and a fretted 5 - that is the only downside, it'll fuel your GAS. Check out Harmony Central for the Harley Benton reviews. I did a review myself for one of the old sites and if you PM me your email I'll send it to you. Cheers, John
