    Oops, just realised it's being sold as a project due to issues with the neck '...terrible...it's like a bow!!' and 'The active preamp, circuitry, control pots, switches and jack socket are all missing'

    Oh well, I guess £56.00 for body, pup's and hardware's not too bad....

    What he said..! Get in touch with 7string and get it done right. His setups are the best I have ever encountered in 20 years of playing, and cost a fraction of what any shop will charge.

    As of 10am today, Crack Converters in Hamilton had a black SX BC copy. £80 and in OK-ish nick. One of the pots spun and spun, but it may just have needed tightening. Very little fretwear and a couple of dings.

    Didn't play it amped so can't comment accordingly but felt OK, though it'd benefit from a setup.

    Your previous posts suggest you're in/near Glasgow..? If so, check out our very own 7string - [url="http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=85024&hl="]http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=85024&hl=[/url] - he does phenomenal work.

    I've put a few things his way, everything from a car boot sale P copy to a Gibson 335 belonging to a friend of mine, and they've all come back playing and sounding as good as they're gonna...

    Think he's got a website now, but check out his thread in the meantime.

    Not entirely sure about the model, but I think of her as a 'CBS' as she came from a Car Boot Sale. My dad found her one sunday morning and brought her home, not sure what he paid, but she was in pretty bad shape before Mark worked his magic so it wouldn't have been a whole lot.

    Here's my JD'P'. Although she's not been 'modded' as such, she has benefitted from a full set up by our very own 7string and she's not bad at all..! IIRC there's a '96 stamp on the heel and a '97 stamp in the neck pocket (or vice versa)

    *EDIT* Hmm, I think I see a problem..! Having played her for the first time in ages last nite after taking the pics, it appears that at least one of the pots isn't doing anything, and it's the one top right in the pic... Will query further

    Well, there's a 'Bonehed' setting on my PX4D and the effects are, in order, are as follows;

    Comp2 set at 2.0 (Compressor)
    Goldpnl set at 3 (A bass amp distinctive or its eye catching gold panel and clean sound)
    Combi set at 5.0 (One 12 inch and one 18 inch speaker combination cabinet model for bass)
    Mod N/A
    Dly N/A
    Plate2 set at 1.7 (Bright sounding plate reverb)

    I usually default to the Motown setting...

    Download Acid Express from Acidplanet and take advantage of the 8 Packs they give away every week. I've got years of them stockpiled, and find them useful for providing a bit of inspiration and diversity.

    Nah, but if memory serves Manowar have been in the Guinness Book a few times for various things; loudest gig, longest gig etc. Feel free to Google accordingly...



    And I'm no Manowar fan, but surely there's some love for them out there..! :)
