-
its a bit redundant now i've got the Hiwatt Custom which i wasn't going to buy
-
Just got this of the board but i prefer my Zoom B2.1u bizarrely as i only need one synth sound.
Boxed with all the godies and a power supply. I'm after what i paid - £105 delivered.
Can collect from Bristol/Bath.
Will get some pictures up Tomorrow -
This has become superfluous since i got my Hiwatt DR201 Custom 200 so i'm looking to move it on.
Blew a valve a while back but Dave Green sent me a couple and has since checked the amp to make sure it is in tip top shape.
As these go for £479 and the chinese made ones for £400, £350 inc Uninsured Delivery is my price Collection welcome, I'm in the Bristol/Bath area.
Got a couple of knocks on the corner protectors (thats what they are for!) but other than that its in great shape.
Will put up pics if there is some interest
Comes with the signed certificate of authenticity and original box. -
Hey sk8 what's been fixed? Just being nozey like
Cheerz,
John
Nothing
I had a vavle blow, chatted to Dave Green and he sent me out a couple of replacements. Fitted a new one and it seemed fine. Used it at church great, used it in my punk band practice and acoustic duo practice and it didn't sound quite right to my ears, a bit unclear. Dave did mention about it may have blown a resistor when the tube blew (Dave did say he had designed it to not happen but it may have). Chatted to Dave again and he said send it back which i did. He's had a look and it seems okay, he changed a drop cap because it may have gone abut he can't test it. AB'd it against another and it sounds the same so at least i know the amp is fine and it may be my ears -
my LB has been fixed and is on its way back to me
Great service from ashdown -
Thats not helping me not want one

Ah, an AE410 - awesome! My AE210 stack was great just a bit too hifi for me and one AE210 is bloody loud
The AE410 and F500should match up really well.
My LB plus the LB cab never came with the correct manual. They came with Klystron manuals.
I'm happy enough to muck around with the settings- yes they do seem inconsistent, even on the same amp, I guess it must be a bit of a nightmare if you have the spyder too.
Not quite loud enough, no, but I think you'll be surprised. I don't know what kind of band you're in, I guess a hard rock/ metal band with 2 guitarists and you'd be lost, but I play in a 5 piece folk/rock outfit and last Sat I tried the LB out and it held it's own. Medium-ish sized pub, packed out.
Like I said, I had no headroom, I was just on the cusp of breaking up (where if anything it gets quieter) but I could easily be heard.
It took me a few songs to get used to the sound of valves- at first I thought I couldn't hear myself at all- I'm so used to having that directional, focused sound from solid state that I didn't realise how loud I was. Then I stopped playing just for a second and realised just how layered and a part of the sound I was. More a bed of bass than just notes. Made us sound fatter.
But, yeah. Come on Ashdown sort it out!
I think every LB owner should be able to send their LB back to the factory and have Ashdown fix the problems, plus chuck in a couple extra valves and a few more watts as way of compensation!
I didn't even get a manual with my LB

Acoustic trio yes. Used it in church fine but if you want a clean tone it might not cut it in a pub situation. If you can DI it into a PA then you'd be laughing
