1. Hi Mal(?),

I'm interested in the Gator case for my Peavey Cirrus 5. How's the interior, any squashing of the foam? My only concern is if there would be any lateral movement as I do a fair amount of flying & don't want my bass rattling around, if you know what I mean.

EDIT: Also, are the Jazz pups standard or other?

Pics would be appreciated when you get the chance.

    Cheers, Stuee :)

  2.
I have a defretted Squier Jazz neck that I've been looking around for a Precision body for - what would you rate the chances of my neck fitting this body without too much work required?
If it doesn't fit let me know, I'm looking for a fretless neck for my old Tokai Hard Thumber (Precision-alike) :)

  3. Just came across this. If anyone was wishing Sue Ryder did a fretless, this is probably about as close as you'll get. AND they also come with a bag and strap!

And here's their shop, with LOADS of basses all about £50 + P&P. Ridiculous!

  4.
Initially I thought this was just another newbie sticking their neck out with something to complain about - however this is really annoying. Can someone sort it out?
Just some newbie?? How very dare you?!
Do you know whose reflection I think I once might've glimpsed as they hastily left my vicinity?! :)

  5. Just managed to stop myself from completing the transaction... phew!! I just thought to myself, "Why?!!"
I'm pretty sure I only wanted to buy one because it's such a good deal, and maybe because it would be another thing to nerd about with. I don't need it.

Nah, I'm gonna buy an AERO1 instead! Doh! :)

  6.
I'd say this is worth about £350. I made an offer of considerably less, which was turned down within seconds. If anyone is thinking of buying it, hopefully my lowball offer may have prodded the seller a few millimetres towards reality.

It is a lovely bit of bookmatching on the top, and it looks like it's matched on the headstock as well (!) so lovely craftsmanship, but yes I agree about the value. Especially having just seen December's issue eBay Bargains Monthly (thanks John!).

I also just had my lowball offer declined in a matter of approx. 90 seconds. Ho hum.

  7. If it makes you feel any better, BTS_Spacebass's USA Spector 5-string which was [topic="116866"]listed on BC[/topic] for the very decent price of £1,000... then £900... then £800, just sold on eBay for a measly £580.

I'm gutted because I missed the end of the auction and didn't buy it. I can't imagine how he feels.

    Very sad indeed :)

  8. I must admit it does seem that you are, with respect, a bit of a Warwick fanboi. Nothing wrong with that, they're great instruments as you say - just not for me. But what I don't understand is why, if you love them so, are you defecting to the other side??

If you love your Warwick, don't sell it. Play it, and spread the word! Perhaps you can help drive the resale value back up a bit :)

    (Edited for typo)

  9. If you don't have a speaker cable with you and you're desperate, you can use a decent instrument cable to connect - that is, it will 'work' - but it is not designed for the job and I would advise only doing this in an emergency. I have done it recently with my 240W RMS solid state Ampeg and it worked fine, but it was a small cabinet at relatively low volume. I still didn't feel comfortable with it. I don't think I'd have tried it with anything more sensitive / valuable, or at higher volumes. It's not just the cable you're risking, it could damage the amp or the speakers.

I'm no electrical/electronics engineer, but as I understand it instrument cables are designed to transmit very low power signals, not the high energy signals that an amplifier needs to transmit in order to move those speakers at high velocity. Speaker cabinets are passive, remember, so the electricity required to move the coils all comes down that cable! It stands to reason that a specific design of cable should be used.

Gentlemen, please feel free to correct any inaccuracies - I'm here to learn :)

    Cheers, Stuee.

  10.
Leszek,

Great doing business with you and meeting you in person! The F1 sounded sweet! It was worth the drive.
Does that mean this amp is now sold? Leszek, please amend your topic title to reflect *SOLD* status, as per forum rules.

Shemeck, this is an English forum and all public communication should be in English please. PM if you would like to use a different language.

    Thanks.
