1. in my oppinion, japanese are the best fenders. ive played mine for years now. briliiant build, deffiently on par with amaerican built basses. also doent break the bank! just my opinion though. tom.
2. ive played fretless for years now, and ive always used roundwounds.
3. i love sight reading! ive played in sinfonia groups on double bass, where sight readings a must, and also jazz groups, where it certainly helps!
4. whos got one?! or two..... or maybe three! haha! heres me in action with my gorgeous 1992 fender jazz '62 reissue japan.
5. exactly! they're perfect entry level heads! dont break the bank, and offer lots of sound variations. its based on the ashdown mag heads, and i actually prefered the behringer (ive played with both heads)
6. no interest? im open to offers? great semi acoustic!
7. ive used a behringer 3000T head for 2 1/2 years. been nothing but reliable. anyone that says otherwise is simply a gear snob! (ive now had a little bit of an upgarde to an ampeg )

12. im not sure if it would make a huge difference, but im a fretless player, and i feel like i get more bass response from a fretless. any opinions? tom.
13. Beautiful bass, dream to play. Really happy with it, except i am a poor student and hence need money! I bought it for £250. Its in great condition, except for a small chip in the head. £180 ono. Tom.
14. my first bass! except mine was black. truly brilliant first basses
15. Ampeg BA 500. 350 watt 2x10 combo. i play through one, love of my life! Probs around £900-£1000 tom.
16.
The combined impedance will indeed be 2.67ohms, so you'll be getting fairly close to the rated 500W out of the amp. The new combined lower impedance just means more current will flow out of the amp so if you use the same settings, then there won't be any "easing" on the existing speaker - however you might find that you now have the volume turned down a little so it will help in that respect. The current will shared between the 2 cabs and normally one would use the same impedance cabs so that they get an equal shared, in this case the ampeg will get approx 57% and the ashdown 43% of the current - not a huge difference. The sensitivity of the speakers will be more significant in dictating which cab appears louder, but as I assume the ashdown speakers are more sensitive I guess you find them pretty evenly matched. Sounds like a nice addition to the original amp :-)
yeah, they are pretty evenly matched! I highly recommend the ashdown/ampeg sound, you get the best from both companies! Thanks for the feedback everyone, appreciate it! Tom.
17. im pretty sure it is easing the load. You see, by itself, the speakers on the ampeg can struggle to get the low E, but with the ashdown, it sounds absoloutly beautiful. Its the best sound i've ever had from a rig. good balance of low and high end.
18.
One thing is that the cab with the lower impedance, i.e. the combo itself, will be getting more of those watts and will therefore *in theory* be louder than the Ashdown cab.
so it shouldnt be doing any damage to the ashdoown? just easing the load from the ampeg speakers and pushing more air, giving me more volume?
19. so do you guys think a new cab is needed? will any damage occur as the ashdown is 8 ohm? you see, im not to bothered about getting the full power out of it!

21. change of plan! i will be selling the ashdown 2x10! or maybe a swap for a 4 ohm 1x15? will sell for £120! tom.
22. ASHDOWN 1X15 DEEP CAB - £120 BEHRINGER 3000T BASS HEAD - £80 NOT SELLING THE 2X10, AS ITS REQUIRED FOR MY NEW RIG! GREAT EQUIPMENT! PERFECT FOR FIRST STEP UP FROM A PRACTICE COMBO, SUITABLE FOR GIGGING.
23. you see, thats what i thought initially, but the 500 watts can only be brought out with a 2 ohm cab, any ideas?
