  6. holy sh*t man, i have never seen a Rick copy in my life - never mind left handed (i thought Rickenbacker had patented all the rights when they first started releasing bass guitars) and for £400? i think im gonna have to get in contact with this guy, thanks for the link man
  7. Oh yeah, thats something I forgot to mention. This Bass is 3rd hand (I bought it 2nd hand from Cash Converters) so it does not come with a box and I am shipping it with a Ritter gig-bag.
  8. One word - Entwistle ...or at least try to be
  9. Hey guys, hows it going - long time no speak? Anyways, as some of you may remember a while ago i posted a link to a Bass that I am seeling on eBay and it sold. So my questions is:- How would one go around and packaging a Bass? I mean are there like special boxes you can get at the Post Office or is it going to have to be a case of simply getting hold of lots of boxes and sticking them all together? Any suggestions greatly welcomed Cheers, Mike
  10. thanks for all your help guys, after a serious amount of thinking i have decided to let her go - 2 grand is just too much for a student like me cheers anyways

  15. Would it be possible for me to change the stock pickups on my Yamaha BB414 for Seymour Duncan 1/4 Pounders? I have been looking at them and the bridge pickup (singlecoil) especially looks like it wouldnt be able to house them very well. Cheers, Mike :~)
  16. thanks for the link MB1, thats a really great website with loads of decent priced gear from looking through it I can get a vintage Fender for less than a Rickenbacker, hmmmm....
  17. Hi guys (first thread) Today I went to a local guitar show where I saw a left handed Rickenbacker 4001 in Fireglow. Its from 1971 and has a checkerboard inlay for the binding. The condition is as you would expect from a vintage bass that has been used for gigging - but nothing serious. Headstock is fine, all electronics work and it has all its orginal parts. The guy is wanting £2000 for it. Is this too much? I have been on ebay and you can get a Rick from the same era for about a grand less - however they are not left handed. I would really appreciate your views on this as if you guys say the price is right then I might just have to go for it Thanks, Mike
  18. wow, great player man - one of my favourite funk bassists of all time love his tone
  19. Hi guys, just come over from MX (Sputnik) and wanted to see what the crack was over here. Chris (finbar) suggested for me to check this place out so here I am. Well I guess I should start with the basics, I'm 18 (19 in November) and have been playing Bass for about 3 and a half years - and been loving every second of it I have been in loads of bands but currently am in none, my favourite style of music is Rock and I live in Cumbria. As for gear I have 2 Basses; a Schecter Stiletto Studio 5 and a Fender MIM Jazz with DiMarzio Model J's. I run them through a Laney R3 165 watt combo and have a BOSS ODB-3 and CS-3. I hope to meet lots of cool guys on these boards and hopefully learn and share a thing or two too Peace out, Mike
