  1. Hi , sorry for missing your question. I'm located in South Wales and also near Totnes in the South West. Did you want to know string spacing on ACG or Caspar. It looks like you're in Somerset. Which part? best wishes pb
  2. For sale is this Mensinger Caspar 5 string bass. Its a short scale bass and has an incredible tone. Anyone that has played short scale know that the lower string tension feels fab and gives an immense tone. Currently strung E-C but sounds incredible conventional strung at B-G. Its in immaculate condition. Not a single mark. I'm thinning my herd down in order to fund my dream instrument. This bass is a joy to play, very easy to get around and great for chordal playing too.
  3. Thanks for this Brother Jones
  4. For sale is this beautiful 5 string Krell bass by British luthier ACG. It is in absolutely immaculate condition. It is currently strung E-C (for chordal playing) but sounds wonderful in the conventional tuning B-C. This instrument has a real and unique quality. The workmanship and attention to detail is fabulous. An amazing sounding instrument with ACG pickups. It has a John East pre amp which further adds to the tonal qualities of the bass. Save more than £1000 on the cost of a new instrument.
  5. Hi Jack Sorry for the late reply....... South Wales (Newport) PM me if you're interested. cheers paul

  9. Up for sale is this GK Bass Rig. The GK 700RB head is great sounding and very flexible. The head in combination with the cab can be bi-amped. The horn/tweeter and main speakers can receive separate outputs from the amp. If needed the cab can be run in normal mode (full range). The secret ingredient with this setup has to be the awesome BBE 'Sonic Maximiser pre-amp). This unit has separate inputs for passive and active basses, a Bright switch and gain control followed by Treble, Mid and Bass controls. There is a sweepable mid-range control with boost/cut options as well as a very musical compressor that can be controlled (as well as being able to be switched in and out of circuit). BBE also include their SONIC MAXIMISER,a kind of aural exciter for bass, with access to a Low Contour. The amount of processing can also be set/controlled. This later function can also be switched in and out of circuit. Completing the rig is a Behringer digital tuner with rack light, all housed in a GATOR flight case. I would rather not split if possible but PM me if something has special appeal. PS Bass NOT included......
  10. Grab yourself an awesome bass.
  11. Thanks tro all ps Im in newport s wales
  12. Thanks for your response but I should've pointed out that this is a new bass (bought today) I have other bass's where this is not a problem at all. I think it may be the neck (Truss rod adjustment) but not sure.
  13. Can anyone help me reduce or silence the effect of string noise/slap. I'm guessing its because of the string height (which is low) and I like. I just don't like the noise (acoustic) that the string makes. I should point out that I'm playing finger style. Cheers paul h
  14. Reduced to £975
  15. No worries , thanks for getting back.
  16. Forgot to mention it has a zero fret...... fab on the open B
  17. Thanks to all for such nice comments... Re string spacing. At the bridge currently 19mm although it can adjusted between 18mm - 19.5mm and at the nut 9mm (although my eyes are shot!!! Hope this helps
