I've phoned Alembic up before now and had advice over the phone that sorted a problem out in 5 minutes.

Not really before a gig, but after setting up.

In the "What's going on" clip it looked like my old mate Chris Garfield on guitar. I know he played in Pauls band for a while.

You might like to PM Kevin Glasgow on here. I was speaking to him at a gig at the weekend and he expressed an interest in a Status six string. Might be worth a try.

Thanks very much for the heads up -
Ilian bought a 4U case off me. There was a mix up with the address, my fault not his, and the case took about three weeks to deliver.
Ilian was a complete gent throughout, payment was made on time and I'd have no problem dealing with him again buying or selling. -
I've always liked Counterparts, it's a great album. By contrast, I bought Clockwork Angels on release day, and still not played it all the way through.

Really sorry it took so long Ilian ( address mix up) I won't use this courier company again. many thanks for your patience. -
I practice through a mixer and headphones nowadays, lot more sociable, and I get a better tone.
Going back 30 odd years, I had my own house, 2 up 2 down terrace, lived on my own. I had 2 1x18 W bins that I used as my rig together with a 300 watt Peavey head. One day thought it would be a good idea to pipe the hi fi through it. It was that loud that not only did my neighbour come round, but my next door but one as well. Never did it again.
My current neighbour likes music, every bloody weekend, got woke up at 2.00am last Saturday, it was 3.30am when they turned it off and went to bed. It's getting where me and the wife can't enjoy a weekend night in in peace now.
I do get on with the neighbour, but it's getting to the stage where I'm going to have a word. I have a Hartke Kilo and Ashdown 1x15 and 4x10 cabs, so I suppose I could re-run the pipe the hi fi through it gig. But that's not what it's all about is it. -
If its smooth jazz or some jazz fusion then to a degree I'm ok.
It's the everybody playing whatever notes they want mish mash twaddle jazz that drives me nuts. -

...and Dood as soon as he's had his 142 string bass delivered.

Yeah, I'd heard about that. His plan was to dance across it using his twinkletoes, to pluck the strings. A kind of bass dancing ballet if you will.

I've had 2, a Streamer 2 NT 6er and a Thumb NT 6er. Both were great basses, but the bottom of the necks were way too wide on both of them. Both have long gone.
TBH I've never been a great fan of the shape, but they sounded great.
I've also never forgiven them for making Status destroy the moulds of the Status Buzzard, which is a thing of beauty, The Warwick Buzzard on the other hand is the biggest Ogres wart you could ever wish to see. -
[sup]Bought myself a small 4 channel mixer today from Maplins, just the job. thanks for the advice.[/sup]
