2. I've used interparcel to send basses as far away as Australia and Canada with no issues.

I normally put the hard case in a box and seal it all up with loads of gaffa tape.

I've sent smaller items via myhermes twice and won't use them again, they were useless

ok deal! How can we get together? Since i`m new here, how can i pm you?
I've just PM'ed you, just look at the top of the forum and you should see a red box with 1 in it where there is the envelope, open that, then the PM.

  4. Up for sale is my ACG 6 string singlecut.

Bass comes with hard case and is £1400 shipped.

Bass is 34" scale and the string spacing is 18mm at the bridge. Weight is 9.8lbs.

I've had this 10 months and its been out of the case twice, so time to let it got. NO TRADES PLEASE.

  5. I had a gig once where it came to the Bass solo (yawn) and I couldn't play it as both my hands had cramped up. The full jobbie, fingers curled back the works. I had to stop playing to try and pull my fingers back straight.

Never happened before of since, but it was highly embarrassing.

Much of this debate has been about BC justifying its position. Let's try the shoe on the other foot.

Anyone who wants to buy and sell a Ric can easily do so using other forums. The trade in Rics proceeds unhindered. No one is remotely disadvantaged and it's not even much of an inconvenience.

So why should BC should consider changing its position? :)

    This

BC is not the problem. It's JH that's the problem. JH will say it's not him but the company's that rip off his products that's the problem.

So round and round we go...............again.

I sold my 4003 on Gumtree with very little hassle, just a pity I couldn't sell it on here, but hey ho.

Sorry to keep banging on about this, but could someone answer a simple question for me please?

If I wanted to sell a genuine Rickenbacker product on Basschat (if there wasn't a ban) and there was absolutely no question as to it's authenticity, would there be any legal ramifications?
I can't see how there could be..

The whole thing is about JH trademarking the headstock and the truss rod cover. If Basschat allowed a picture of either in a for sale thread, and the bass turned out to be a faker, then they could potentially end up in a whole heap of poo.

I was a mod on here when this all originally kicked off, and trying to keep tabs on for sale adds that had photos of Rick head stocks and getting them removed was a ballache

The Basschat owners kept getting threatening letters from JH, so in the end we decided to ban Ricks from the classifieds section totally.

I even had a few email exchanges myself with JH, and gave up as he was totally beyond reasoning with. There were also exchanges on Rickenbacker resource forum.

There could be a return to allowing the sale of them on here if photos were not allowed on Rick for sale threads, but the mods would have to police it and it would be a nightmare.

It was mainly because of the Ricky saga I decided to quit modding on here as it was getting too much hassle, what with seeing all the butting up to JH from some of the members off here over on Rick Resource and having to deal with the likes of JH and his threats.

The management ain't going to lift the ban, so that leaves the likes of Gumtree and cretins offering you £300 under what you have it listed for, like they did when I sold my 4003.

Yeah, I know I'm not the worst but I would like to find one or two and just be happy!
I've been through more basses than most people on here, most of them have been worth between 1 and 2 K, and I've not been happy with any of them really. I've now got a ACG 6er, a Status 5 that I bought new, sold, and then bought back again. And I've just spent £170 on a Yamaha 5 string, I used to have one before, and they are brilliant for the money. I've also just sold a Ricky 4003. I think I must have been through 40 plus basses, so no, your not that bad really. I used to get the same from my band mates when I used to turn up to gigs.

Never understood the fascination some guys have with having the action set lower than a snakes belly
Personal choice innit.

I has a Dingwall where I'd set the action very low, when I came to sell it the new owner raised it high up.

  10. I've just ended up with this beauty. I've has Sei's and Alembics and the build quality on this surpasses them hands down. It's an incredible instrument.

I always thought it was a bit twee and clique-y myself.

Tend to agree with this, where do you draw the line, you can't have sub forums for every make/model of bass.

Basschat is OK as it is.
