  1. Thanks for clarifying Bill, particularly with the car engine analogy which really helped!

Seems that there's a consensus that the BF cabs are not fragile, which is obviously vital. But my band members (who I'm guessing range in weight from 44kg right up to 77kg :)) are quite happy on occasion to perch on my Markbass combo, and I've not batted an eyelid when they've done so. Would you all be as equally relaxed about your heavier band members sitting on the top of your BF cabs? I guess that for me is a reasonable test of strength for the 9mm plywood used in the BF cabs?

i agree, and that's my point, the killers should have been on the main stage and ed consigned to the tent

Did't like the new single though!

The Killers actually headlined the Pyramid Stage one year about 10 years ago, I suppose they were at their zenith in terms of popularity and thats a huge factor when it comes to a headliner. I didn't watch them, instead I went to see Iggy and the Stoogies at The Other Stage - so many choices!

  3. Do they still need 12v? That was a disadvantage for me. Also they are large.

Other than that, they are very versatile. I used mine as a boost, an overdrive and a powerful EQ. The DI is good too. I never used the headphone function but can see how it would be useful to some.

Quality and useful piece of kit

Taken a better picture now, how high do you think a Gibson Thunderbird through this lot will register on the Richter scale?

I had always imagined the SC to be much smaller than the ST, but looking at that picture, there's not much in it!

  5. Supporting the Hempolics at The Bodega last Thursday.

Rumbled playing past the 12th fret!

  6. Next up, as part of Refugee Week, we are half of the live entertainment at World Music Night, along with MUHA,
Nottingham Contemporary, This Saturday 24th June

  7. I've been through a few:

SWR, all valve (x2), Euphonic Audio, Genz (x2), EBS, Trace Elliot, Glockenklang (x2), plus several combinations of pre/power amp.

The one which ticks all the boxes for me, and I can't fault at all is the Glockenklang Blue Rock. I've never considered anything else since getting this amp. As you might expect, it's expensive, and has gone up by around £200 since I bought mine due to the weak pound :(
Still, for me this is the perfect amp.

  8. Next Thursday we support The Hempolics at the Bodega, Nottingham.
I have another commitment which I'm trying to work around, so it will either be bass-less acoustic set or full electric noise.
