I understand millenials don't like criticism.

Millenials don't like racism or homophobia either ;)

That's one way to put it Blue. Another would be that society has progressed quite a bit in the last half century in some areas. As stated previously in the thread, a more progressive and positive method works well when trying to get results from people.
Of course, as with all things human nature, it's about balance. Criticism is essential, but there are positive ways to present it.

It's a win, loved my amp one and the customer services from AER were second to none. I bought mine second hand off basschat, it was about six years old and it developed a farty fault, I sent it off to AER for repair, they had it for a while and couldn't actually find the fault, so they sent me a brand new one back free of charge, now that's customer service!

This night was epic last year, this year with the riotous Trojan Soundsystem

The guy is obviously very discerning, and it's a great coup for Barefaced. But I still had to look him up :-)

Everyone has gaps, depending on their experience and taste - I'm embarrassed to say that people mentioned on BC that I've had to Google include Matt Bellamy and Wilko Johnston.

After Peter Gunn Theme and The Chain, Tim Commerford bass lines were the first thing I worked out when starting out on bass. Well done Barefaced!

I'm currently GAS-ing for a German built, long scale Warwick Star Bass, but without trying one first, I am certainly not going to part with any cash.

I tried a Korean one at a bass bash, and although it sounded great and had a nice neck, I found the hanging position (short horn so the body is further to the left) too much of a reach* to be comfortable. I suppose this would apply to any bass with a short upper horn.

*a five string might have been better, as I tend to play more around the fifth-seventh frets on a fiver.

I have tried a few light weight amps and although they are good for most stuff i think the elusive heft is sadly missing
I have never found one that can do reggae/dub convincingly ..they are ok for onstage monitor but using one for a gig without p.a.assistance
is to much of a compromise for me ! ...
if anyone can direct me to a lightweight amp that can get this sort of sound please point me to it..here's the sound i'm after

Glockenklang Blue Rock, no sweat. I play in a reggae band too and it is really, really good.

  7. What about unnecessary PA support? At a gig tonight in a tiny venue (picture taken from back of the room)
Note the Genz 6x10 and Orange Terror mic'd up to go through the PA!
God I love my ACS earplugs :D

In tge spirit of the thread, the PA is all Peavey boxes (6) with EV, QSC and Peavey power amps. Soundcraft desk.

  8. I have a very low tolerance of 'wannabe guitarist' type bass players, so when it comes to Bootsy - not a problem! When I listen to Mothership Connection, I am listening to some of the best rhythmic, funky and innovative bass playing ever committed to record.
