1. Evening :)

Bit of a random one.

I've got a 5-string Warwick with the two-piece bridge and the common problem with B-strings not fitting! Had to switch from D'Addario Pro Steels to Warwick Black Label when I got the bass - luckily I really like the Warwick strings so it was never that big a deal... BUT I really want to give these D'Addario Chromes a go. Unlike the Pro Steels the Chromes have silk either end so I'm hoping they might fit... just wondering if anyone with a 5-string Warwick has any experience of such strings etc before I spend £45? :P

Cheers!
Ben

I had one of these. Really cool piece of kit. I'd have one on my current bass but there's no room!

I bought mine directly from their site and even though it's a bit expensive and a piece of foam works pretty much just as well, it's much quicker and a nicely engineered solution

They get my thumbs up!

Cool, thanks loads! I'll drop them an enquiry through that site then :)

Whatever made you get rid of that Jazz, by the way!? :gas:

3. I've seen a couple of people have these things installed and they look great! I was just wondering where you can get them from?

These things 'ere!

I know I've taken this photo from supposedly the website of the guys who make them (here) but it looks very out-dated and I can't find a way of purchasing them (without sending my home address etc for just an enquiry) :(

Any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers! :)

4. Reluctantly up for sale is my Sue Ryder bass, in red/rosewood. If you haven't heard of Sue Ryder basses before then, well, where have you been!? Take a look on Basschat/Google them and you'll find plenty of praise for these amazing instruments. This is the keep-at-home bass which I use for practise/writing when my Warwick's out and about, it's my back-up bass for when my Warwick's not out and about and it's... well... just... I love it and typing this hurts. However, GAS has taken over and I find myself in need of some new bass gear to compliment my 'proper gigging' rig (my Warwick never has any issues so the only thing Sue gets to do at gigs is sit in her case).

Anyway onto Sue, in more specific Basschat details, it's in pretty mint condition - a couple of tiny marks - more little finish blemishes - just being honest. But no dings (whatever that term really means) or any such thing. I replaced the standard pick-up/electronics with a second-hand Seymour Duncan SP-2 and a Precision wiring 'upgrade kit' from AxesRUs which consists of CTS pots and such. With a solid alder body and a pretty high-mass string-through bridge it sounds pretty darn sweet. On the SD tonechart the pick-up has the following reponse:

Bass: 5
Mid: 6
Treble: 5

Punchy.
(But I have the original stuff in-case you want to change it back for some reason)

Oh, and the tuners are great too. Haven't tuned in a couple of weeks of daily playing and she's still there. :)

For all of this I'm looking for a mere £100ono + postage - looking for money really, but always open to trades, they never hurt anyone.

Apologies for the phone pictures, I don't have a camera to hand at the moment, but if requested I could get hold of one :)

Cheers for looking,
Ben

Nice track!

Using an earlier "Toaster".

I am still breaking down my collection of Forty's but will still end
up with maybe five or 6 of them, as keepers.
You may be interested in one of them.

So, I'll be in touch, via PM.

Cheers. :)

Thanks! PM'd back! :)

Yeah he's been using that T-40 for at least a year now alongside his two Precisions - I've noticed a couple of different artists using them recently too. Definite gas! :)

6. Just spotted Mutemath using a T-40 live, and in a music video (Odd Soul) too. Great band too, some great bass tunes like Obsolete and Armistice :)
I've been after one of these T-40s for ages! If anyone has a spare they'd be willing to let go of let me know!

We have the same rig :) Seeing as it's an absolute beast with just the one Barefaced Cab, I'm looking forward to adding a midget to it and really letting the PF-500 loose!

Nice! It's a great rig - and it would definitely shift some air with a Midget on top! I was thinking of saving up for one but for me the Compact is plenty darn loud enough as it is - had a gig on Sunday with acoustic drums to my left and a massive cranked valve guitar amp facing my way to my right. Bass in my monitor? Nope :D
