  1. What the hell?

Have people actually seen the vendor list you’re potentially voluntarily and forcibly consenting to? I’m on an iPhone and I can scroll non stop down a list of companies I’ve never heard of for minutes, there’s hundreds of them, on my phone all pre consented to, and some vendors have an automatic consent tick box that you can’t untick? If you have a spare hour you can untick the ones that let you and suffer the rest.

I don’t consent to any of these third parties having my data. There are no reject all options, so what are my options as a PAYING user on this platform?

Is my only option to stop using the site?

    seriously what gives?

  2. My band is currently doing this, our approach is we all chip in and then the band owns the PA not one individual. If I left the band I’d have no claim to it.

Our plan is to eventually pay ourselves back through gigs at which point we’ll all be happy… but probably looking to invest in more gear!

We also want to buy an IEM system but PA first 😀

Well despite receiving no "we're collecting it today.." type confo email, which I'd foolishly expected, DHL did actually pick it up about mid-day, so it's en route..

let's see what snags occurr now..

Hope everything is smooth sailing for you mate! Fingers crossed!

Interesting, I've been assuming they'd just get their DHL bloke to pick it up again, I'll see how it pans out, I've always got the hit them for a big part refund and keep it option as a fall back, if it's looking too iffy returning..

It would be great if they do get a DHL man to come and get it, have they told you yet? Firstly they try and palm you off with a DHL drop off service where you need to take the parcel to a shop where “it will be picked up” ?

Great if that’s not the case though! As it was hell.

  5. God don’t get me started on Thomann and their returns.

I couldn’t even get anyone to take my parcel off me in the first instance and I tried lots of those DHL drop off sites (all corner shops) no one wanted a bass in their shop store room and refused to take it… One shop mentioned the DHL man hadn’t been for 2 months… she showed me her stock room and it was just floor to ceiling of un collected returns parcels.

In the end after threatening Thomann with legal action (I was really at the end of my tether) they got the DHL man to come to me to get the parcel from my home address and it went direct to them and within a couple of days I had my refund, but it took months and I won’t buy from them again as the returns are a bloody nightmare and the customer service team couldn’t care less.

A timely topic for me. I’m likely to sell my CIJ P bass soon. BB offered me £650 based on the description, I’m guessing they will sell it at near £800. I’m not sure whether that’s a good deal for me or whether £700 to £750 is a fairer deal for me. Hassle vs hassle free.

Yep 👍 when I deal with BassDirect and BassBros I’m happy to take a small hit compared to what a private sale would get me. For me it’s so much less hassle and an added bonus is they’re both on my doorstep.

  7. I still don’t have context.

what’s he selling his bass for? A one-off payment? To fill a deficit? To pay for a holiday?

Technically you’re not covering the cost of the bass, your donating to cover the cost of whatever the bass was going to cover? And without context I can’t do it? What if it’s to cover a mortgage payment and then next month there’s another collection? Solving the root of the problem is going to help more than throwing cash at something?

Also please don’t read this as “I don’t care” I genuinely sympathise with everyone who’s in a predicament financially at the moment, the cost of living is a joke at the moment, my household has had to make a lot of changes too! It does suck.
