1. Hi Guys

I'm selling my Ampeg BA115 100w Kickback Combo - Great little amp and suitable for small/medium size gigs.

Bought it on a whim really, just doesnt quite have the output for me and no output jack to connect another cab.

Looking for £175, but will listen to sensible offers. Can deliver in the Yorkshire area.

Give me a bell on 07772 652304 or email me on "][email protected]

PS: Apologies for the lopsided photo!

  2. I'm looking to sell my Epiphone LP Special - It's a great little guitar in mint condition, with a lovely tobacco/sun burst finish.

Would preferably like to trade for a Squier P Bass of some description. Would also condier selling for £100ish.

I live in Leeds, but could deliver/meet within reason!

    Let me know if interested.

    Jon.

  3.
Hi Jon,

My boss actually offered me the same swap! I tested his one but I don't think i'll be able to shape the tone into what i'm looking for. So i'll have to decline.

    Thanks though!
Ok Mate,

No worries. Good luck with the sale!

  4.
The collection needs thinning.

With that in mind I am going to have to let this one go (regretfully). It’s a Squier P-bass Special (I.e. Jazz neck but jazz and P pick-ups).

I bought this for £199 new about two years ago. I've gigged it alot and its one helluva workhorse. I also recorded an EP with my band on this bass and the tone is perfect. The body and neck are sound as the day I bought it and it looks awesome (the metallic black glistens beautifully in stage lighting).

Obviously being used for gigs and such it's acquired it's fair share of buckle rash, the headstock has a couple of scratches (damn venues with low ceilings!) and the poles on the pick-ups are a little ionised. With this in mind I'm looking for £110. I'm based in Oxfordshire and would vastly prefer local pickup, though I might be able to travel a little.

I'm also interested in trades - I’m looking for delay pedals, reverbs, synths (the shame) perhaps a guitar or a jazz bass. Whatcha got?

Let me know if you're interested :)
Would you be interested in a Yamaha EMP100 mulit-effects unit?
Think I confused everyone!

I was hoping for a swap for the P Bass if Pete was interested! I did daftly make it look like I was after the EMP100 (Which I'm not) Sorry guys!

Pete, I'd be up for a straight trade if you are.

    Jon.

  5. Interesting. I suppose you've always got the option to change the sound (ie: new pickups and so on,) if you don't like it.

I think having thunk about it I'm more of a looks bloke! But the sound is important - and here I go again......

  6. I've been thinking about this recently, so just thought I'd post it and see what other people thought??

We all know that feeling when we're in the market for a new axe, or just window shopping and you see that bass and think, that is pure gorgeous craftsmanship? But what is it that attracts us to a particular model?

With me, I love the shape of Jazz basses and have done for god knows how long! Just so happens I really like the sound too! But recently I've been thinking about adding to my collection and have been looking at various basses and reading reviews and so on. I can't however, drag myself away from the way it looks. For example, I've been reading various reviews whereby people swear by the sound of a bass, but to me it looks awful but sounds awesome.

What I'm trying to say is, do people go for looks, sound or a combinations of both. I love the sound and warmth of Warwick basses, but cant stand the looks! I'd love a Sadowsky, but although they have a Jazz-esque shape, I just can't get used to the lines on the body!

    Am I mental?!? :)

  7. All great suggestions above. I suppose it depends how much you want to spend? I personally love Ashdown gear. I've got an ABM EVO ii 500 combo and for what I do (small to medium gigs) it's awesome. Some of the lower end ashdown stuff can be a bit limited, in my opinion, but just get a SansAmp and all your problems will be solved. Truely awesome bit of kit.

  8. Hi All,

Just wondered if anyone could tell me where to find the bulb that lights up the VU meter on an Ashdown ABM EVO ii 500? I've looked high and low for the little blighter and can't find it anywhere!

The lovely guys at Ashdown sent me new bulb as mine decides when it wants to light up but having had the meter gauge and head out, it remains illusive!

    Thanks!

  9. Hi All,

Just registered on the forum after reading loads of useful posts regarding various Bass related issues!

I've been playing Bass for about 11 years now. I currently play a Squire (don't hate me!) Vintage Modified Jazz. I must say, in all honesty, I love that guitar! Loaded with Duncan Design Pickups, it sounds awesome! I'd like a Jazz one day, but funds are hard to come by these days! As I'm sure you know.

I curently play through an Ashdown ABM EVO ii 500 combo, wouldn't play anything else. Incredible.

I've got a Bass V Amp simulator which boosts my sound and gives that bit of extra punch.

I play in an Indie/Ska outfit, which is great fun and my sound fits in really well!

Well, thats me, I look forward to talking with you all!

    :)
