  1. Another Handbox R400 convert here.

I've had my new R400 for a couple of weeks and had my first outing with it yesterday. The gig was with an old school R&B band with no pa support, so I took my Barefaced Supertwin 212 cab. We had a limited sound check due to folks watching Man Utd v Wolves in the bar. I went with gain vol at 12 o clock and master at 1, left my volume on the Overwater PJ with some in reserve and lifted the bass to 2 with treble at 12, no contour and no drive.

In conclusion I just couldn't fault this amp, loads of punch and definition and a lovely warm tone. Thanks to Leszek for everything, these have to be the best value/quality amps out there. Also thanks to Wateroftyne for posting his reviews, and for his advice, spot on Michael.

Thanks for all that everyone ..........

I must be really getting past it.  Not only have I posted in the wrong section of Basschat, but I'd forgotten that I once had a Warwick Rockbass which I really liked EXCEPT that it was hard work accessing the first few frets as they seemed implausibly far away - thanks for the reminder PlasmaZombies.   I'm going to have to re-assess the Warwick idea although I don't use the first few frets much and don't really like using open strings - I should probably be looking for a 5 string!!

I'm in the middle of installing an en-suite at home, but if I can get it finished with days to spare in March I'm going out!    I don't care how long it takes, but I'm going to try out all the suggestions that have been made so far! All over the bleedin' country.

And look at some amps and cabs (fancy the Trickfish and the Bergantino Forte for some reason!!).

Ha, finally in the right section of the forum!!  :sorry:🛠️

Just a suggestion as you're in the north, try Gary at Promenade music in Morecambe.

He is an experienced player and will give you some good advice.

  3. Hi folks, just wondering if anyone owns an Eich combo either the 500w pro or the standard 300w version?

I'm currently looking for a quality small rig for rehearsals, home use and occasional small gigs and deliberating/dithering over the above combos or a Barefaced super compact and small class D amp with aux in etc to enable home practice.

I currently own a supertwin which is great for gigs, hence my thoughts on the super compact option.

Any advice or info would be much appreciated.

I our one of these T Bird pick ups into a P bass. They sound great!

Tol bloke to deal with and all his gear is top notch. Oh the jealousy 😀

Thanks for that my friend,, the pickups are exceptionally good and the T4 having  two gives you some great tone options.

I've had a scout around the forums, but I can't find a list of folks we SHOULDN'T deal with. Where Basschatters have reported a bad or scam deal for example. Is there a list anywhere on here? I know this might be contentious, but reference to a list of people not to deal with would have probably helped me avoid a recent scam I've experienced - not on here, by the way.

Nice idea Graham, I've met some great people on Basschat........but......

The trouble is who do you believe? Sometimes the victim is questioned, until the wrong un becomes a serial offender of course.

Please forgive the BC cliche of cliches, but I'm astonished to see this still here at this price.

New, this would cost you $3600 in the USA with nearly another $1000 to get it to your door, or over €4000 from Germany (and I suspect that's 'old stock' and the price will increase soon).

Can't see a current price at Bass Direct, which is where I bought my T5, but I'm guessing it must by now be north of £3500.

Thanks Jack, they are indeed in that price bracket new plus the cost of the case to factor in.

With this in mind I reckon it's an exceptionally good deal.

I'll trade you Alex's first ever cabinet for this.  It's a Big One.  Certificate for proof of ownership.  It's a piece of history.

Thanks very much for the offer but I'm really looking to get some cash back in any trades.

  8. Hi Dave, not looking for basses at the moment as I've gone back to Wals (expensive hobby), hence the reluctant sale of the T4.

However I may be open to amp and cab trades, I do like the Barefaced cabs.

  9. Price reduced to £1895!!

    Hi all

Here is a 2012 T4 in the coolest burst finish.

This is Mike Lull's take on the classic T bird style bass with a beautiful tone reminiscent of the 70's grunt with extra sweetness and articulation.

In excellent condition with zero issues, it has a mahogany body with graphite reinforced jazz width neck and is extremely well balanced and light at 3.63kg or 8lbs.

    Original G&G case

Controls are vol vol passive tone.

Polished stainless steel bridge saddles with 19mm string spacing.

Collection from Preston Lancs welcomed or motorway services meet up etc, within reason.

Happy to ship at cost price, est £15 - £20 UK
