I used to have a Klystron 250 (or maybe 200?). I believe the Klystron's were forerunners to the ABM series?
-
I just hang the front 2 amp feet over the front of the cab, while the rear feet stay say on the top.

Yeah, but we were talking about Ed Sheeran remember? Nothing against ES but intellectual property? Come on!
It wasn't me made the sweeping "modern music..." assertion...

TBH, modern music is so utterly unadventurous and formulaic, the songs are all clones of each other.
Eh? There's loads of new, refreshing, innovative original stuff out there. You might not find it on R1, but...

I don't have an Ashdown amp now, but when I did I just twiddled stuff 'til it sounded good to my ears, and ignored the needle...

I kinda of guessed that the ' clean ' bit was about running bass guitar through heavy overdrive or distortion pedals, rather than blasting the amp volume into distortion.
I could be wrong
As we're talking about the signal being sent to the cab, does it matter if any distortion is from an overdriven amp or a pedal?
I suspect not.

??? I only see 12'' and 10'' based cabs in the lineup.
The original 1x15 Compact was discontinued when the Gen3 cabs came along.
Still got mine, and it ain't going anywhere.

I should probably mention that this is a random house in California, rather than a genuine home studio in Harrow ...
If it's in the USA some random sockets won't work, some switches won't do anything, and some will work the wrong way around.

They westone would cost me 700 (with original case)
Crikey, is that what they go for these days?

I've not given a thought to any other bass since I got a Yam BB1024, some 7 or 8 years ago I guess. Not really brand loyalty though - it's just so bloody good

Seems to work OK - but should I go for one of the pukka solutions instead?

However, at getting towards £200 for a bag, I honestly wonder what their costs and overheads could be to warrant such a ludicrous price.
Them fancy promotional videos ain't cheap ya know...

Zoom multi-fx. i personally use a B3, but that's no longer current.
Also gets you aux in, amp/cab sims, effects, tuner, looper, drum machine.
I think the new one is the B1-4 or something.
Hard to beat for the money IMO.

No 'right' or 'wrong'. Do whatever gives you the sound you want.

True - but compressing a sine wave will change the amplitude (volume) but shouldn't impact the frequencies (i.e. the pitch)? I mean YT clips generally don't sound out of tune or pitch-shifted compared to a Spotify recording. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to correct me if I've got that wrong.
Besides, I was adjusting for amplitude in any case by altering the volume as I was going along anyway.
I reckon he's talking about lossy audio compression, not dynamic range compression.

Leads don't get tangled & knotted by themselves.
People do it...

Depends on the band, and anyway bass speakers/cabs these days are far more efficient than was the case 50 years ago. I've gigged 50w quite happily.
I've done loads of pub gigs with a Carlbro TC60 into a BF Compact. Guess it depends on the band/genre though - most pub bands are waaay too loud IMO...

Oh good, we haven't seen this one for a while...

I always assumed the 'Happy Birthday To You' song was an original, by my granny. It was only recently that I found out it was originally written by James Bond !

And the 4ohm 210 will get 2x the power of the 8ohm 110, so it'd be distributed equally across the 3 drivers.
