  1. As well as learning existing slap basslines I like to visit the site below for ideas and inspiration..I use parts of some of the riffs to build other riffs..BTW MarloweDK is a god!!

And there was me last night, thinking about the GA24 I once missed out on.....arrghhh!!!

Just out of interest, what are the differences sonically?

Not a great deal...I believe that they have the same electronics..I'm sure that somebody will be along shortly to correct me..

  3. I've got something waiting in the wings so I'm having a bit of a purge - up for grabs is my Jaydee 1987 Supernatural Roadie 11a.

The Roadie is in excellent condition with a couple of nicks in the lacquer. It was recently serviced by John at the same time he fitted a second p/up. I've posted some photos here but there are more in my Gear Porn thread. I'm in the Mid-Herts area if anybody is interested in a try before you buy..

Price: I am open to (sensible) offers in the region of £800 for the Roadie.

Please note that the GA24 is sold..

Haven't been to a UK show for ages and either Saturday or Sunday I'm sure I'll be able to make.
Anyone know the cheapest option for getting a ticket at this time?

If you get your ticket from Mark at BassDirect there's no booking fee..when I contacted him last he said he'd be putting up details in the New Year..try contacting him direct..

  5. Having seen Victor last year at a seminar at Digital Village (where he signed my copy of "The Music Lesson" and had my photo taken with his bass) I can confirm that he is an absolutely amazing bassist - even if he's not everybody Cappucino!! If you get the chance go see him - guarenteed he'll blow your mind..

  6. For me, it's a form of catharsis - I've got a creative streak that I need to vent in some way..I also love to draw but don't pick up a pencil often enough..plugging in and playing for an hour to an hour and a half allows me to relieve the daily stresses of the real world...there's almost another worldliness to it, a form of mental escapism..much as I'd love to play in a band I'm always frustrated by not achieving what I need to..I got to admit to being the worlds's greatest control freak and band diplomacy can be really frustrating for me hence why I spend a lot of time playing by myself.

This doesn't stop me enjoying playing any less...for me it's the journey not necessarily the outcome..

  7. Anybody interested??

In terms of bass gear, I have an Ibanez ATK-305 5 string, a Hartke HyDrive 210c 250W combo, and in terms of pedals (so far), a Bass Big Muff and an Ibanez Weeping Demon. Could definitely do with some more!

Anyway, cheers for having a look, I look forward to posting on the site!
