  1. Guys,

Not sure this is in the right forum.

Having never owned a Lakland or played one I would like some opinions.

I am interested specifically in a Lakland 4-94.

Does anyone own one? if so is the sound very unique or very similar to a Jazz? Would it replace a Jazz or compliament it (60's/70's popish type stuff....) ?

I have never seen one for sale on here...

I have 2 cracking basses but could always have room for one more.

    Talk to me people!

    :)

  2. I too was once like you.... happy with the way the Squire sounded through the Marshall Amp... one day, trolling through the internet for Bass related sites.... it all went pear shaped, I found this site and GAS hit me!

Now the proud owner orf a Warwick bleached blonde, Fender Marcus Miller and a MarkBass CMD121P (cracking combo amp by the way!)... a pedal is on it's way....

    I have been converted.....

    My wallet has been depleted.....

    My fingers hurt......

    .... I love it!

  3. So many tracks to choose from. But I like these ones:

Stevie Wonder - For once in My Life
Marvin Gaye - I Heard it Through the Grapevine (or Gladys Knight and the pips!)
    Rare Earth - Get Ready
The Four Tops - I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch

I am sure this will be a very popular thread!!

    Have fun. :)

  4. Picked up my first bass 11 months ago and not looked back. First bassline attempted Fleetwood Macs "the chain".

Currently working on Jamiroquai and Chilli's with a touch of Police thrown in everynow and then!

  5. Just bought my very first Warwick! Thanks Pete - couldn't have gone any smoother...although I am not used to meeting strange men in car parks... !!! :)

    Top Bloke. Cheers!

Paul bought my Warwick Thumb Bleached Blonde. A pleasure to deal with him and a nice and easy meet and exchange. Of course his dodgily pimped Vauxhall might make receiving money from him in a service station car park seem more than a bit suspect to any passing officers of the law! "It came like that from the factory constable," just ain't gonna cit it I reckon. :)

Still, easy to spot him once you get there so it's swings and roundabouts I suppose.

All the best, cheers for a good deal done good.

I wasn't lyin the motor is factory pimped!

All that aside - mate what a great bit of kit - very pleased with the the blonde. will have to learn how to play hr now.

    Cheers mate.]

  7. Hi all,

As a newbie to the site I would first like to say hi!!!

But, I am also after some expeert advice. I am looking to upgrade my Combo Amp that I have been practising on from a Marshall MB30 to something with a bit more punch that I could practise and poossibly use for small gigs.

I have looked around the net and various shops. I have a budget of 300 ish.

I am thinking about the SWR Working Pro 10... Are they any good?

Can anyone recomend me anything else to me that is any good as an all rounder?
