    ive just bought a 6x10 sealed cab.

    its an amazing sound. really rich and full with no excess on the low end or high end - just smooth power.

    best cab ive ever used by a mile. having heard it i cant think why some cabs are ported (like every other one ive used).

    I think the port to makes up for the lack of speakers pushing air , I borrowed a 6 x 10 the other day &  a wheel got jammed on the gravel pub car park ..I wish it had bigger wheels .

    ???

    Saw the credit section and did wonder?

    Ashdown paying Foo’s?

    ???

    I don't understand the confusion ? It's a standard  advice note from the Foos bank  after a BACS payment .I get them all the time .(not from the Foos lol )

    Blimey @Ashdown Engineering !!!

    You actually showed an invoice?

    How many players have played big gigs let alone made live albums/ dvd’s or released anything on major labels? 😏

    Top marks for full disclosure though 💪🏻

    What matey failed to realise it that most effects run in-line thru an amp... Even if thru an fx loop then that still has to be present in the D.I. or no fx FOH or in wedges?!

    Bedroom playerz.. bless ‘em 🤭

    It's actually a payment advice note from the band .

    What, bolt an Ampeg SVT-CL onto an 8 X 10?

    Edit: Actually, Trace did an 8X10 combo. For some reason it didn't take off. :D

    Ashdown did a 8 x10  Mark King Combo ....made perfect sense for a touring band tilt back & wheel straight into van ..

  5. I've tried it & didn't like it for the following reasons

    A.I like the height for monitoring

    B. It sounds better

    C. I use the pitch Black rack tuner its very light & has a lead tester .

    D. The individual items are lighter than the combo I was using .

    E . It looks a lot cooler  (very important)

    For this sort of thing I usually recommend seeing as many bands as possible and trying the gear which has most impressed you as a listener. I had loads of different amps/cabs, and found Ashdown by accident, as every time I used one as a provided rig, I just liked the "slam" of the sound better than anything else. Previously my gear was small/costly/lightweight, whereas now it`s none of those, so don`t discount lower-end gear. Get out there and enjoy some bands/bassists, and set your ears to work.

    I agree ,reading all the theory about stuff is all well & good but try  to use stuff on a gig if possible .

  7. as I put my PA mixer on top of my rig , I'm thinking of putting the whole rig on a dolly as this would make it easier to leads if requires on tight stages ,as it would be raised by 2" would this effect the tone ? I've been told that it wouldn't ?

    Cab (barefaced S12T) and cables/amp/pedals suitcase (travel trolley) have wheels, bass has backpack straps. One travel with all my gear. Drummer is thinking about getting a ROCKnROLLER cart from thomann for his drum kit and when we need to take our PA to a venue. They're very tough and versatile on multiple surfaces. https://www.thomann.de/gb/rocknroller_r6_mini.htm

    Just ordered one from Bax music slightly better price  including delivery .

    Tried a Geezer Doom this afternoon.

    Take-aways for me:

    - TBH it's an ABM 600 in fancy clothing, so save your money (and you backs) and get that instead. Oh it has a Doom switch, which adds a bit of grit - but seriously just get a dirt pedal that you really like;

    - the EQ on the amp is pretty impressive;

    - their Ashdown 4x10 struggled with the Geezer head; a Markbass 1x15 found it a breeze. My second (and last) attempt at trying out Ashdown cabs and being disappointed with the result;

    Amusingly the amp head that PMT Romford have 'set up' for folk to try out with their bass selection is actually a DG M900, which IMHO has a better dirt than the Geezer and a great clean tone, is a quarter the size and weight and delivers 35% more power output. I won't be trading mine in just yet...

    I f you look at the rear  it's for connecting multiple amps without getting earth problems (something like that ) so if you don't need that yes get a ABM600

    Well I reduced from a 1.14mm to a 1.0mm and it has made the difference I wanted. Plus with OCD and all that, they`re blue so they match my Ashdown gear. Which is nice.

    I use a 1mm  nylon JD  even a 1.07 mm made a big difference.
