1. Simply in awe!

Apart from the fact I don't understand how the human brain is capable of playing and singing at the same time, (never mind this well) I'm finding this a great antidote to that miserable, overblown pub singer the entire world seems to be bleating on about at the moment.

Non-Blues fans look away now.

2. Try playing against a CD player as opposed to a tinterweb or MP3 source and see if you have the same problem.

I had this on multiple basses for a while and it turned out to be the digital sources a couple of percent out on the playback speed. YT is especially bad for this, (bloody miles out, actually!). If it carries on with a CD then I'd look at the bass.

...most people genuinely have no clue as to what 'funk' really is, and wouldn't recognise it if dressed up as Batman and buggered them with a marrow.

This all the way, just do what you do, they'll all be pished as well as the above. (which has just made me miss the 'like' button for the first time ever!)

4. I wouldn't worry about it, we're like a Formula 1 crew at the end of the last song and happily crash our way through whoever is between us and the door. (or more usually congregated in it )

We did this so well once that, (after we'd gone down like a fart in a space suit) a DJ put on 'Dance the Night Away' when we finished. We all slammed our boots shut by the last beat of the song! We were quite proud of that.

I think Deuteronomy 22 may be relevant here

Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.
Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together.
Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.

Feel free to use this as a Scriptural basis for him not to play with you

I've always had a mistrust of divers as well.

It made me feel nauseous. All those dudes pulling sex faces. I once saw a band where the bass player simply solo'd his way through every song and the lead guitarist not to be outdone kept licking and rolling his way through the chord changes slipping in sneaky elaborate extra riffs at every opportunity after which he would get a "you rascal" type look from the bass player. To which he would respond with a "what am I like?" Roll of the eyes and straight into next nauseating ridiculously excessive chord change. These guys needed to get a room and get it over and done with and if it broke up the band then so be it but these were two repressed dudes. The memory has made me feel a little queasy. I need to lie down.

I always wanted to see the Police live.

This video compares the three specs seamlessly.....to me the 424 sounds much better, more depth and punch, but the more expensive ones sound more refined. I play a 414 in a rock band, so refinement isn't a requirement!!!!
I don't think that video does the 2024 many favours at all, the transitions from 1024 to 2024 were seamless. I realise that the vid doesn't compare playability at all, which might well be where the extra sponds go, (wouldn't know as I've never been in the same room as one) but all I got from it was a new bout of love for my 415.

Hell's teeth!

To think I've spent the last couple of years trying to work on not staring intently at my left hand the whole time I'm playing (and its worked, I now only stare at it about 90% of the time), they're playing other people's instruments as well!

I can't even look at the time while walking without stopping, so after watching that I'm feeling a tad stoopid.

Bloody brilliant vid!!!

That's fab, have yourself a brew! :)

10. I've searched ebay until I got REALLY bored with no success, so do any of the upstanding members (titter!) of this parish know where I can get a pot like these?

The threaded section is around 15mm, the shaft is 24mm including the knurled part. The best I can find seems to be 18mm over all.

Its on a JHS Vintage pre if it makes a difference.
