does this thread really still need to be open? lol. everyone is aware of the fact the amp isn't actually 450W, and now the arguments are just going in circles.

yea, i did notice that, does the rh450 have an fxloop? cos there isn't any info on that on the tc website.
-
ah brilliant the only thing that makes me unsure of whether the rh450 or the bh500 would be better is the weight difference, and the fact that the rh450 has the parametric eq. but having never used an amp with more than bass, hi and lo mids and treble, i don't know whether it would be all that useful to me

Hey there, I am looking to trade my Aerodyne Jazz Bass, ideally for another Jazz, or a 4/5 string MM, (but I will consider all offers), as I have found that the Aerodyne just isn't the right style of bass for me anymore, (which is a shame, because it sounds phenomenal). The Aerodyne is a fantastic instrument, with a great sound from the P/J pickup combination, and it is really light, weighing only 3.2kg. The bass is in great condition, with only one tiny ding, which is about 1mm x 1mm, and barely noticeable, and some light clouding on the chrome hardware. As I said, all offers will be considered, and I am willing to add cash for the right bass. As for a sale price, I am looking for [s]450[/s] 425, but I'm open to offers. I am based in Faringdon, near Oxford and Swindon. Cheers, Adam EDIT: Pics are now up

thanks! What is the build quality like? I tried one out today, but forgot to try out the rh450 to compare. I absolutely loved the bh500, and am very interested in getting one. now just the decision of what cab config to get

I have been following the discussions, yes, and I have to say that it doesn't really bother me. I am far more concerned with the build quality, tone and sound of what I buy when it comes to bass gear, than how it has been marketed, because I am fully aware that quite alot of companies twist the truth in their marketing ads/campaigns etc. But this is a discussion for the other thread, so let's not derail this one, haha I was mainly wondering whether there is any difference in the things like the spectracomp and tubetone controls between the two heads?

I have to say, there are some very amusing posts in here (although none will match the shear stupidity of some of those on tb, haha). I would just like to say that I tried out both the BH500 and the RH450 today at a music store in Guildford, and they were both very nice, very well made, amazing sounding heads. They are a million miles above the Ampeg PF series. Now I fall very nicely into the camp that isn't really bothered by what the actual wattage rating is, because the quality and volume of the sound are far more important than a number on a piece of paper to me. Yes I agree it could have been marketed better, and in a clearer way, and if you want to be all ethics minded, then I can see why you might be a bit let down by TC. But in the end it doesn't really make much of a difference, as it is just as powerful as a 450W head, and as I am not someone who gets a hard-on over power ratings, this news doesn't really bother me. (/flameshield up )

also, (and I apologise for the double post), are there any major differences between the bh500 and the rh450? cheers

hey, cheers for the replies so far. I would love to be able to head up to Warwick, but my only means of transport is the train, and bassdirect is a long way from the station does anyone have any thoughts on the 410 vs 2x212? Cheers

Hey BCers I have been looking into getting one of the new TC Electronics BH500 Bass heads, and I was wondering what people thought about it, and more specifically whether anyone on here had one and wouldn't mind me possibly testing it out for a bit? (I am willing to travel to you and bring my bass with me.) cheers Adam EDIT: I am based in Oxford.

SOLD: FS Fender MIM P-bass w/ Fender Hard Case

Hi there all, Due to unfortunate circumstances meaning that I really need some extra cash, I am selling my MIM Fender P-bass. This really is an amazing instrument, and it is in very good condition, other than some buckle rash, a couple of small dings, and a missing tone knob (the pot still works perfectly). None of these things affect the tone or playability of this bass. I have replaced the bridge on this bass, which has massively improved the sustain and clarity of the bass. I am selling it with a Fender Hard Case, and I would prefer collection only, but I am willing to meet halfway for anyone who lives further away. I am based in Faringdon, which is a village in between Oxford and Swindon. I am looking for £200 for the whole lot. If you have any questions please reply to this or send me a PM I will put up more pictures once my internet is working properly, and extra pics are available on request
