2.
My main bass now is a 1992 Rickenbacker 4003,even though I own other basses the Ric is number 1.
Great collection, I'd like to have the same like that with those types of basses (with the Cirrus as a five string). Colours are also just as I would like it, with the exception of having the Rickenbacker JetGlo.

Today I have a 1 J-type and 1 P-type bass so I have 3 to go to match it hehe.

  4.
Not something you see every day:

    Quest Manhattan M3

Built by Matsumoku, Quest was a spin-off brand of Vantage. This is a bit on the pricey side - if it had been the through-neck, transparent/flamed front version I might not have been able to stop myself...

    J.
Wow, that's a quite interesting bass - looks good and is kinda unique.

I can only imagine the through-neck version you talk about, it must be quite something.

  5.
Linky not working! Checker binding will probably be an early Fujigen or a Kasuga. I've seen one Matsumoku-built Electra Corsair with checks but that's unlikely. Early Grecos were both Matsumoku & Fujigen, so we'll see... :P

Oops! It was my first time for puttin in a link so my fault for not trying it after posting ;)

  6.
My recent purchase - 1979 Ibanez Roadster RS800 IV.

All original, in great condition - a few knocks/chips, but it adds to it's mojo! :P

    Oh man! That's a beauty ;)

  7. I like the looks of that one, JetGlo with checkered binding - it's in Japan though.

What do you think of it?

  8.
Thanks.
You must be pretty cool in Iceland too!
The Aria could always be shipped but I haven't a clue what it would cost and if you would want to pay that.
I would definately be cool playing either of those basses hehe :P

Shipping to Iceland is too expensive now so I'm not too cool with regards to that ;)

But the Aria is tempting hehe

  9. How is the B-string on the five string versions of 414 and 614?

    Z

Oh yeah, and by the way - I really like the pickguard and colour of the bass the OP linked to ;)
I also had a 4 string BB, the version before the latest, and that one was quite good.

really hard to see that blemish on the neck for what it is. Great colour body.
Agreed on the colour! I wonder what it sounds like - does anyone have an idea how close those are to a good Jazz?
