Fairly sure that’s the coil tap switch, to switch between dual coil humbucking and single coil; see:
http://www.westone.info/manual/index.html
The linked manual if for a guitar with humbuckers (3 switches). On the bass (2 switches) I believe it is a series/parallel toggle.

That's exactly what I'm after (the G4M bass that the OP posted). Can't find it on the G4M web site... anyone got a link?
I think it’s this one.

I've played London a lot but a first for my current venture. I can't wait!
I am not in London this weekend and will miss that. Enjoy!

There is an old Basschat thread here:
With a link to:

(red bass further down). Has the same bridge but a single switch. -

Whetherspoons.
Not because they're supposedly full of pond life. I never found that to be the case. I used to work away from home, live in hotels all week, and at one time or another went to pretty much every Whetherspoons in Britain for a cheap and cheerful meal and a pint or two.
But since the B word that shall not be mentioned I would never put another penny in Tim Martin's pocket.
The man is an absolute bell end.
Same reason for Dyson - I now have a Shark and very happy with it.
Same reason for Tate & Lyle - I try to always buy beet sugar (but it’s difficult!).

There is a thread about them on here.

Yes it does. Takes 4 of them.

We have the same water coolers at work, I can't understand the point of this? 🤔
I guess being foot operated means no need to touch germ infested buttons. Also, obviously, you can keep playing your bass while pouring yourself a refreshing drink.

I believe that's an early prototype of the EHX FreezeYes, could be EHX without the control knobs - just on or off.

So the surprise appears to be that it has a rounded back - everyone (even Hofner) expected it to be flat.
Do we know why? Was round back a special option at the time? Or McCartney remembered it being flat?

Does it need its own ticket on the tube?

I had a 96 Jazz and that definitely had a 50th anniversary sticker on it.

Thanks! So these 50th anniversary instruments were not special/limited editions like the 40th anniversary ones are?

@Dazed are you looking for something that looks like a wide range? Sounds like one?
For something a bit different, I have a pair of humbuckers from a DeArmond Starfire, which I think are of a similar size - way too big for what I originally bought them for anyway. I have been looking for a solid body to drop them in (a tele bass most likely)- what are your plans for the body?
Anyway, maybe some alternatives there with Guild/DeArmond humbuckers.

In 1946 Fender was founded and released their first amps. That was not a specific Squier event.

On another board, someone actually said "50th Anniversary of the Precison" and people actually gave it thumbs up.
Looks like it was for Fender’s 50th and they invited Squier to the party

Are you sure it's not Fender 50th anniversary? That sounds about right for '96 as Fender started in 1946.
There definitely are 50th anniversary Squier, such as this one on Reverb. But looking at the sticker on the back of the headstock, it is celebrating Fender’s 50th.

Like a few people here, I bought one of the great Squier 40th anniversary basses. But recently, I have seen a few 50th anniversary Squier basses for sale. Not only that, but they were made in 1996!!
What kind of magic is that?
I’d do my own research but I am scared of being sucked into a world where this is proof that time travelling exists and that we live in a computer simulation.

...liking the pieces of Meccano, pop-riveted on the back - kicking myself for missing this trick on my own DIY build! 😞
The 2 parallel ones are for pickup height adjustment, the other one is a cover for the bolts actually holding the body and neck together. Everything is flush so I’d say nicer than a neck plate.

I had already assumed they were no longer in production and Thomann was just selling their/Fender’s stock.

Not if it involves being filled with helium from behind.
Would you get really high pitch farts for a few days after that?
