In which case, can I have the Trace Cab anyway? Cash on collection.
-
Have you recieved my PMs / Emails? Oh and since you've gone for Orange rig, does that mean you're no longer interested in trade? I'm still interested in the cab either way.
I would check inside to be sure, I bought a 1215 and the front panel wasn't lit, but I found that the cable to connect the front panel to the EL driver board was missing, I put in a bit of screened cable and hey presto it's all back lit now.
That requires pulling it apart though -
Nothing's come through

Awesome I tried an SMX in PMT a few weeks ago and that lit up, so I was just curious if anything Thanks the for tip off!

Just collected my new acquisition today, a Trace GP7SM 250 head. It sounds and looks great, but it doesn't light up. Did all of the trace panels light up, or just some?
-
MichaelG, slightly off topic I admit but having spotted your signature, which night were you playing at the Albert Hall? I was playing there on Tuesday but was on half way through so had no idea what was going on before!

I use one as my medium sized / rehersal amp. To be honest I find it pretty light. It's got a nice punchy sound, but as Warwickhunt has said, add energetic drummer and they quickly run out of go. However when I used it for recording, it left anything else for dead and everyone seemed to love it.
It's the P150 combo with the EV speaker, and it's looking pretty tatty, but the nice thing is all it needs is rubbing back and a coat of varnish. Gunna get the amp serviced too. I've got a trace rig on it's way to me as the acoustic rig's a little elderly now and a back breaker, but no matter what happens I want to keep the Peterson For medium sized / jazz gigs, I can't really find any reason to not recommend one to anyone -
I've always found Warwicks a bit hit and miss, my first fretless was a Corvette, and it's pretty much my main bass now. It looks fantastic in light, as there's something different about the Bubinga that makes it bounce light. I like it so much that as soon as I came across a fretted one for £500, I snapped it up instantly. I don't mind the top horn, although I had a nightmare finding a case that'll fit it. Got a pair of Hiscox and they fit perfectly though
Thing is, a friend used to have a Streamer, and I hated it. I was happier playing his Peavey T40 and when he came to sell the Streamer, since not many people would be interested in a custom with Afzelia body and such, he made a massive loss on it. Then again, I played the Infinity that's instock at Manchester PMT, and if I had the money, I'd snap it up anyday of the week. I'd never sell the corvettes though, unless I was offered a 5 string fretless, and I'd still think very carefully about trading it, as the grain on mine's so unique! -
Natural!
We're playing everything tuned down to Eb.
We were doing that as well, and were still struggling. Confused my teacher a bit when i forgot to retune for a lesson -
Problem I had is that the singer in my old band was dire, but he thought he was God's gift, and he also formed the band. Therefore, he refused to take criticism, and even media reviews were coming out with stuff such as "The drummer and bassist were in a completely different league as the vocals seriously need addressing" but he still wasn't having it. It's a shame because he was a nice enough guy, and had just stepped back and accepted we needed a frontman, he could have been a much better guitarist as well. But over time he got worse and worse, until I was too embarassed to play with them, so I left.
I now know and work with miles better guitarists and singers now I'm available! -
Hey is this £270 with or without the cab?
-
Ahh that's brilliant, thanks muchly!

Normally I carry 2 basses on the principal that i use both of them, as I play fretless and fretted. However, I could turn up with just the fretless and be able to play a whole set, but I'd still have my backup incase anything did go tits up.
I did one gig without a backup, and I managed to snap a string. No spares, too far from home so the only option was to borrow a gash P copy and sulk. It was that bad, during the sound check I sent a text home begging for help and my dad came out with the Wal for me. Got the better end of the deal I reckon and I've always gigged with the Wal instead of my other fretted bass, until my Warwick turned up -
Couple of questions, I'll presume judging by the price they're coming from america, so how much did you have to pay in import duties and stuff?
Also, can you possibly stick some pics up of yours inside and out?
Cheers, Dave -
To be honest I hated the majority of the set, hence why I left
