1. I'm another who took advantage of Graham's blowout sale last week... very friendly price on a Microbass II.

Turned up today, condition is nice and tidy as described. Seems a great little unit.

    Appreciate it, many thanks!

  2.
- Can anyone recommend an overdrive which produces successful results with both bass and guitar, and which incorporates a blend or mix control to add dry signal to the effected signal?
Two that fit your description :

3xfx fatman (though blend is internal)
Voodoo labs sparkle drive (I've not used it but 'gets some love' from bass players)

Some other pedals that I feel are good on both (no blend though)

    Catalinbread SFT
    ZVex Wooly mammoth
    Roger Mayer Voodoo Bass

Muff-style pedals are also obvious candidates for dual duty. (Blackout musket, etc)

  3.
The list for this is:

    Topo Morto
    Bremen
    Bassmonkey
    Jacqueslemac

    Roll up, roll up...
Yeah I'll make sure it goes on with the list attached!

Unfortunately this weekend just gone was spend doing a lot of box-shifting, not much time to kick back with a book - was happy to find out that coming monday is a banker!

  4.
A brand new Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk B is for sale in the UK. Let me know if your interested. Customs charges have already been paid. This is an awesome pedal. Here is what Wren and Cuff said about it:

    http://wrenandcuff.com/site/the-stompboxes...guitar-booster/

Warranty is automatically transfered with the pedal.
But it's your name! how can you sell it? :)

just FYI you need to list a suggested amount. (Borat voice - 'very nice, how much?') and also this needs to go in the effects for sale forum (http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showforum=69) - maybe one of the mods will move it for you if you PM.

Great pedal, good luck with the sale.

  5.
how is the dirty bomb on lower gain settings ?
To be honest I've not used it a lot so I don't really know how it is at any settings :) It's just on sale as I have to get rid of at least half my pedals to come back into the realm of sanity and as I've not had a chance to get into it it's on offer.

I'd have a go now but I'm in the middle of turning my studio/storeroom into a bedroom/storeroom so hard to find space to plug anything in.

If I can find space to put my feet in the next few days I'll have a go - were you interested in it on geetar, bass, or both?

  6.
ebs microbass 11 £130
    ebs bass iq £85
    mxr blowtorch £50

    2 x dunlop power bricks £45 each

    thanks for looking
Feel almost obliged to try the microbass II!

  7.
You managed to get tickets?
All down to my dad who as well as being a Stokie is involved in the local (Cambs) FA. We still had to pay £200 for three mind, and we were right up in the gods.

Very little to cheer in the game - there was Silva's open goal miss and the moment a Man City fan was identified among the travelling potters... but Stoke, as they say, 'didn't turn up'.

Bumped into quite a few Stokies at the Tate Modern - surprisingly cultured lot! (Or maybe just cos it's easy to get in without paying)

  8. Reasonably solid lightweight 4U rack bag with exterior padding. C/W shoulder strap and mounting screws. front and rear access via zippable panels which velcro to the sides to keep them out of the way when you need access.

    Here it is look:

Just the thing now that you can get 90's expensive rack gear off ebay for less than the cost of pedals - buy a few lexicons and drag them out to the the pub with you!

    Anyone near me want it?

  9. Bought this as a foray into fretless...

Good enough to drop it off (relatively) locally and spend some time going through the ins and outs of it. I'm quite optimistic about fretless playing now actually!

Very generous deal, gratefully received... many thanks!

    Ivan

  10.
I always run 2 chorus pedals on my board. A bog standard boss for general use and a cheap PSK guitar chorus that only processes the signal from the upper register. This comes in handy if I'm playing chords and tapping the root notes. Other than that I'd maybe go with an Octaver and Wah. Maybe a decent synth too.
This kind of hints at something else I was going to say too - good sounding effects chains for bass are often very simple (bass -> one effect -> amp), or quite complex - where you have some kind of parallel / split band processing going on.

  11. You can still be a purist with a VT bass - you're still going bass -> amp, just that your amp is a modeled one!

I'm sure you could get a Boss or Zoom digital multi-fx for £100 second hand with all the basic effects. Once you know what specific effects work for you you can always shop around a bit more for standalone boxes (but for effects like delay and reverb, the multi-fx boxes may be more flexible anyway)

  12.
Yet again another pedal that i want and no money wicked :)

Take it your not up for an trades then?
To be honest I am at the stage of life where I have bought a ridiculous amount of gear and 80% of it has to go... so not really after trades, sorry!

Have you got a sofa you can look down the back of? Usually there's a couple of hundred under the cushions somewhere...
