    I'm searching for a 5 string or possibly a 6 string due to the needs of the band. Came across this bass in the shop and it was listed at £350 in the guitar shop. Black colour with maple neck. I miss my stingray and bongo and I cannot afford to buy another high end instrument at this stage of my life due to family commitment.

    Was wondering hows the quality of this instrument compare to a Fender 60s jazz (MIM)?

    I'm thinking about trading the Fender away for the sub sterling ray 5 or put abit more for the ibanez 6 strings or warick rockbass streamer LX 5.

    Stupid idea or I better off try sell the bass and then decide?

    Fender Aerodyne Precision - anyone got one/experience of?

    I own a Jazz bass and also a P/J bass. First don't compare the P/J bass to a Jazz bass. They both sounded different in my ears but I choose the P/J over the jazz. If you like P bass then P/J will give you more option, but if you don't like P bass then P/J setup might not cut it for you ......

    First treat the P/J as a precision bass with a added J bridge pickup. Another word means I can use this bass as a stand alone P, solo the bridge pickup to get that bridge pickup jazz tone or combine both to get a different tone. On my P/J bass using both pickup together gives me abit of scoop tone but not as much as 2 jazz pickup together.

    Probably not what you looking for but I've only got a Fender classic 60 jazz with upgraded pickup to offer.

    That sound about right. Last time when I sold my MM Bongo on gumtree I thought is a scam too. Sold it to a teenage guy, I wasn't sure at start but then it end up quite well because his mum and him travel all the way from far side of down south up to Manchester to pickup the bass and paid cash.

    I've recently advertise my Fender Classic 60 jazz bass on gumtree along in here of course.

    I've set my contact method to email and mobile on the gumtree ad.

    I've received a text message yesterday saying is from gumtree and tell me to contact a interest buyer by email. I've contacted this buyer from email and the person reply asking how much I'm looking to sell. I said I want £600 and it comes with accesories etc. The person reply saying he will buy it for that prize and said the bass will need to be picked up by a courier because his working in the RAF and ask me to give paypal detail so money will pay via paypal. This is to ensure it will protect both party.

    I think is a scam right?

    I've build up a bad habit of playing the bass when I first started and is hard for me to correct it now. I had my strap low back in the days and my back is not straight when playing the bass because of the weight. Now my wife keep saying my back looks horrible because is not straight.

    I know for the long run i will do damage to my back ......

    I've seen or play more heavy bass then a jazz. Is one of those things, you probably have to get use to it or hit the gym to build up the strength .........

    Strap height and type of straps you use will play a part as well.
