I had one of these for my NS WAV. They're excellent bits of kit.

Edit: think it's a Modulator

Isn't the Sandberg a VT 4 rather than a TM4?
You're absolutely right. Senior moment on my behalf -

He was clearly an influence but do you know, I never realised he played a black P Bass. The only bass I recall him playing was a Ric-ish Semi Acoustic. -

Nice! How close to a vintagey P-bass can the TM4 get?
It's not too bad when played with the passive bypass but as it has a reverse P pickup it's not exactly the same; close though. The Sandberg electrics really make them incredibly versatile though.- 1

Here is my current lineup of basses and after a run of cancelled gigs (there's nothing in the diary now until early April), I have no inclination to either add to or subtract from these any time soon. I did recently take delivery of one of the new Epiphone Newport short scales but it really wasn't for me so I returned it.
Anyway, from left to right is my Sandberg II VT4 in an aged gold finish, 72 Jazz Bass, 75 P Bass and my old American Standard P Bass that I've had for years and is still the benchmark for any bass I play.
All of them weigh under 9.5lbs (Sandberg 8lb 2oz, Jazz 9lb 3oz, 75 P 9lbs and P Bass 9lbs 3oz) and all do something slightly different to each other for me to justify keeping them as part of my much reduced arsenal.
The Sandberg has been a revelation and having owned a few in the past I've rediscovered my fondness for them.

Not sure where you're based but Bass Direct have had these in stock before so you may be able to a/b it directly with a Sandberg

First impressions are that it's very orange. Very orange, but I like it. Fit and finish is very good and while I need to set it up to my liking the action is not too bad.
There's definitely an out of phase when the pickup blend is in the middle but a bit either side of middle is fine.
I can't work out whether someone hasn't had a go at filing the nut a bit as although it's a nice height (for me) there was mere filings still attached to the slots but it soon easily cleaned up.

Love the Maple neck, that one has quite a bit of Lacquer worn off the fretboard. I wonder if the can be fixed up to look decent
I'm sure it could, although I think that's part of the attraction and it would be a shame to remove all of its history. -

They're good for metal
apparently 🤘
Not sure they'd be any good for my back though. It looks heavy

Well I decided to take a punt and ordered an orange one from Peach Guitars that weighs in at 7lb 9oz. If it's no good I'll send it back but if it's not too far off the quality and set up one I tried in PMT Cardiff I'm sure it'll be fine.

That is a particularly nice looking sunburst. If it was mine, I wouldn't change it.

How much of a volume drop? Out of phase volume drop?
It was quite noticeable, like a Jazz bass when both Pups are on full -
I saw one of these in PMT Cardiff this afternoon and had a go. The action was high for my taste and definitely seemed high at the nut, but I was looking out for it after watching Lobster's review. It wasn't awful though and I'm sure could've been sorted without too much effort.
The pickups definitely lose volume and definition when the blend is in the middle. Turn the blend slightly one way or the other and the problem seemed to go away. There are some really nice sounds from both of the pickups though (blended and individually) and it made me think a bit of a Ric with the fizzy warm sound.
Finish was very good and overall the bass wasn't half as bad as I expected/feared. It didn't leave the store with me but it was a close run thing.

I don't mind it at all but it's a bit strange that they've asked Ron Jeremy to demo it, especially with all his legal issues he's facing right now.

Does anyone who owns one of these have an idea of the weight of them?

My first Stingray was Teal and it's still one of my favourite finishes.
Stunning bass 👍

For sale is a lovely Roland FA08 Music 88 weighted key Workstation/Stage Piano/Synth. It's in excellent overall condition apart from a few grazes (pictured) and comes with a stand and seat.
I bought this for a project which hasn't about unfortunately band intended to use it mainly for a stage piano but it does way more than that. This is still part of Roland's current product line and sells new for around £1,500.
I'm looking for £720 picked up from near Monmouth but am happy to meet within an hour's drive to hand it over. There is no case with it.
Specs:
This 88-note flagship music Workstation from Roland can be used effectively for use in both the studio and within your live-playing environments, squashing the age-old dilemma of having an instrument that can only be used to its full potental in either of the two scenarios. The built-in audio interface and DAW integration will certianly attract an audience from within the studio scene, while the 88-note pro-quality weighted-action keyboard and 16kg weight will give the live-playing.
Huge Range of Sounds
The FA-08 provides you with a massive variety sounds which have been taken from the popular Integra-7 module and span the entire musical spectrum. Each of the 16 parts has its own, individual effects engine, boasting 67 effect types, on top of dedicated processors for drums, EQ, chorus and reverb. What's more, you can access the Axial website, which features even more wide ranging sounds, split into various genres.
Powerful Idea Creating Workstation
The FA-08 features a powerful sampler and easy-to-use sequencer, giving you everything you could possibly need to begin creating music whether you're tucked up in your studio or you're out playing on the road. This is a great way of generating ideas away from your main studio. Then once you're ready to convert it into a full track, either finish it of from the FA08 itself or easily transport all the separate stems and information via an SD card into your DAW of choice.
Reviews
(The FA-08) "provides stiff competition for the Yamaha MOXF8, and even gives Korg's Krome 88 a damn good run for its money. Clearly, Roland have come up with a unique package of features for a rather attractive price."
Sound on Sound"Excellent sounds in every category. Informative, easy-to-read display with bright, crisp graphics. User interface is not intimidating for novices."
"A ton of power and sonic flexibility packed into an affordable, easy to operate, lightweight instrument."
Keyboard MagazineHere's what Roland say about the FA-08 Music Workstation:
The 88-note flagship workstation for studio and live use - If you use a workstation to make music, you’ll recognise the dilemma. Studio

The new FA-08 workstation makes the problems disappear; studio heads will love the built-in audio interface and DAW integration, and live players will appreciate the 88-note pro-quality weighted-action keyboard and 16kg weight. And whichever camp you’re in, you’ll definitely love the huge collection of sounds, taken from the popular Integra-7 module and spanning the entire musical spectrum. Each of the 16 parts has its own effects engine, each with 67 effect types, on top of dedicated processors for drums, EQ, chorus and reverb. Did you try the orange ones? I've been eyeballing those but hard to know if they look as red as they do in the photos.
I didn't try them but saw them there. They're definitely a metallic orange colour and they would've been my preferred colour but I really couldn't justify paying nearly £1,000 more for a Masterpiece aged version over the one I went for.- 1

I've used this lot before and was very impressed with the quality. They're UK based too.
