bump, I have the v-type preamp... this is the bomb!!!

I use the EBS multicomp and I second Lozz196's point of view : it's very subtle.
It works wonder when I slap. -
I'd say 350W and above, with a 4x10, played softly, not pushed.
I do slap here and there. And, I notice that smaller wattage/amp give me a sound that is too thin.
Also, I do not couple my amp with the floor. I do not like the infra-bass when the amp in on the floor. -
Hi Joe,
I do not play double bass. The purchase this instrument is being negotiated currently with my wife...
I am not big on rock n'roll. I am more of a soul player.
Cheers,
A. -
Interestingly... My boss, a German guy named Michael recently resigned from his job, to move back to Hamburg... So, who knows? I may follow.

For me the best test is to bring my wife to the gig.
She doesn't care at all about bass guitar and does not know who's playing.
Feedback from my wife:
Marcus Miller -> brilliant , cool, funky & stylish
Jimmy Haslip -> complicated, not my cup of tea
Stanley Clarke (double bass) -> too classic, wouldn't go back
Victor Wooten (with Bela Fleck) -> boring
Richard Bona -> magic !
It's about the music in the end. Stop being bass players when you go to the gig. Enjoy the music (whether it is over-slapped or not) and gather feedback from people who are not bass supremacists.
Same apply to your gigs.

This is madness ...

I own the same model . Fantastic bass !!! Have a BUMP !

I bought TRBboy's RADIAL BASSBONE.
Item received within 24 hours after payment. Pleasure to do business with.
Highly recommended seller.

It could be a damaged speaker. I had that once, when the moving piece is not aligned. It can create unwanted frictions and unwanted noises.

Grooving on bass makes girls shake their booty !!! Guitar solos don't

Nothing makes me happier than slapping on a set of new strings.
I love slap. I use it moderately though... -
I want one !!!!!!!!

I have a VT Bass and I find it really hard now to play without it. It's a great sounding preamp/speaker modeler. Makes my sound fat and musical. The only thing that bothers me slightly is the lack of DI, but I plug it into my radial DI and the sound simply awesome. I note that the Deluxe version has a DI, so no need for an extra piece of kit.

I have had numerous dealings with Thomann. They have always been good with me.
I am sure if you speak to someone they will sort it for you.
As for buying in the UK...
1) I ordered a an Ashdown Little Giant from Soundslive.co.uk.
The head was out of order and didn't work when it arrived. I had to ship it back and get a refund.
The chaps there were very nice and professional. But, it was a bummer to receive a new head that doesn't work :-((
2) I never received my Markbass Traveler 102P from the (London) BASS CENTRE.
They wouldn't give me a refund either and kept patronizing me over the phone... I went to my bank and disputed the transaction to obtain the refund.
I got my refund in the end. I will never shop with them ever again. -
Arggg, I owned the quatra valve, the 200 W version of this amp. I sold it for 400 Eur and I really feel this was the most stupid thing I ever did.
THESE AMPS ARE GREAT !!! -

Just got my VT Bass yesterday ... I second the above... It's super fattening. It's like feeding kebab to your sound.
