2. Afternoon one & All, Just a feeler at this stage really, toe in the water so to speak! Bought this rather splendid 6-er off Gaff a while back and it is a truly gorgeous bass, natural finish and near as dammit mint...one slight bump to top of body, but nothing to cause concern. Sounds awesome and plays like a dream. Reason for possible trade/sale is that I'm just not using it that much and if someone else can get more use out of it then so much the better... not sure what it's worth to anyone in terms of sale or trade so let me know if your interested. Would be keen to look at a precision or warwick, or a nice fretless maybe....pretty much anything ....although I will have to draw the line at figurines of Take That crafted from Marzipan!!!! Cheers Matt Fender Geddy Lee Fender 62 Re-issue Jazz Ibanez BTB 6 Trace SMX 250 head Peavey 4 x 10 Six pack Nice n Spicy Nik Naks.....
 3. That is without a doubt the most GORGEOUS bass I have ever seen....good luck with the sale.....( thinks to himself...hmm, wonder how much I could get for my twins on ebay!!!!)
 4.
Possibly (subject to scraping together funds for a good lightweight replacement) I'm looking at selling my Trace Elliot Head. It's an AH300-12 GP12. The launch material from March 1999 says it's: * 300 watt head. * Valve/solid state preamp section. * 12 band graphic EQ. * Harmonic Emphasis. * Switchable, variable valve gain. * Switchable pre-shape curve. * Noise reduction. * Dual compressor. * Electro-luminescent front panel. * Full range effects loop. * Pre/post EQ balanced DI Outputs. * Tuner Output. * Fan cooled. There is so much written elsewhere about the Trace Elliot sound that I wont wax lyrical about it here. For me it's been a cracking amp for a loud rock and punky covers band playing through a mix of 4x10 and Trace 18" cabs. The cover is the TE green carpet style. It's been super reliable over the last 3 years after (just after I got it) I had GMAudio repair a failed output FET and fully service it. I'm looking to go lightweight and take advantage of the band's growing PA so it's time for this to go... I was asked if it could be rack mounted, and yes I think it can, and although I don't have any rack ears, the AH500 and AH1000 from the same range came in RAH (Rack mounted) form, so they're probably available somewhere. I've included a picture to show the tapped mounting holes in the side of the casing ready for the ears. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll do my best. It's in corking condition other than one missing EQ slider cover (highlighted in one of the photos below). I do have the optional 5 way footswitch to go with it which switches Pre-shape, Graphic, Valve, Compression and Effects Loop. I'm looking for as close to £300 as I can get, including Footswitch not including shipping. It weighs enough to prefer pickup. Thanks Willl
Superb bit of kit. PM Sent!!!
 5.
For sale is my Trace Elliot GP12 SMX 4x10 with Tweeter Combo here are some specs: Output 280w RMS 580w Peak Single input w/active or passive switch Blend knob for solid-state or tube 12-band graphic EQ from 30Hz to 15KHz w/on-off switch, also a level adjust for the EQ Two pre-shape settings w/on-off switch Two-band compression: one for low, one for high. An EQ balance knob. (shifts the mid point of the EQ lower or higher) Effects level knob A stand-by switch Effects send/receive jacks w/adjustable level and full range/hi-pass switch Tuner output DI output jack Foot-switch jack to turn the pre-shape and EQ on or off Two 8-ohm speaker outputs. Four Celestion C10T-255 speakers and a Fostex FH47 horn (non-adjustable). It is one of the older amps from before the takeover I think 1995 I have had the amp from new and it has always served me well and never let me down. I have had it serviced regularly and have kept it in the best possible condition. Reason for sale is that I have moved into a upstairs flat and can't get it up the stairs on my own (its quite heavy at 50kg) Pick up only. Price £495
That is one hell of a fine amp at a fantastic price......wonder what I could get for my kids on Ebay?!?!?!?!? .....ah well have a bump!

 12. Hi, Just got myself a 6 String Ibanez ( the one Gafbass was selling recently) and although I have been playing 4 strings for 20 years, I need someone to teach me how to get the most out of my new aquisition. I can't read music and am self taught so I'm sure i have loads of bad habits, however I would really appreciate someone taking me through the new spectrum this instrument opens. Please get back to me if you'd be intrested in sharing your wisdom....for a price obviously! Cheers Matt
 13.
So where are the parts from?? Si
Si, Pick up Cover, Ashtray Bridge Cover, Thumb Rest, 3 ply Scratchplate, Bridge - All are genuine Fender Parts. Pick Ups, These are not branded but are 6.4k "Jazz " PUPS - They sound really good and have a really good range of sounds - Please have a listen to the tracks on www.myspace.com/shortwavefade These were all recorded using this Bass in March / April this year at Animal Farm studios in Bermondsey using this bass with the exception of Anything To Anyone, which was done on my Geddy Lee. I was told the Neck was an All Parts neck, but to be honest I cannot say 100% if this is the case or not, it certainly plays very well and is true and straight, Fits the Neck pocket of the body perfectly with no gaps. The Body is Alder and Korean origin. Again i would rate it on Par with top end MIM stock and the Daphne Blue finish is superb. Please rest assured I am not trying to pull a fast one here..I am simply getting rid of this as I have left the band due to family commitments...( 4 year old and the arrival of Twin boys 12 weeks ago!! ) so this is going. Thanks Matt
 14.
Bump....anyone!?!?
Bumped again.....would accept £225 for this if anyone is interested????
 15.
Is he the guy that does those Jaco 'tribute' basses that he says are so good?
Thats him. Not sure about his other stuff, but spent about 6 months discussing this bass with him, as I didn't want ot end up with a pile of sh1te. A guitarist Iknow had bought one of his PRS and was really impressed, so suggested I contact him. Really very pleased with the result.
 16.
Who was the luthier? Where/who does he work for? Cheers Si
HI Si, Guys name is David, hes' based in Manchester, but has a "job" with a gigging band . He makes basses and guitars as a sideline . Cheers Matt
 17. Thanks for the welcomes and cheers to Gaf for the recommendation... Ok - I had this made as I wanted the 62 vibe and feel but there was no way I could justify that amount of money. The bass was never intended to be my main instrument. I used it far more than I planned but as I no longer use it for the band I was in, I thought someone else may want it.....Plus i need to fund purchase of Gafs 6 String!!!!!! LOL. The Fender decals were merely to finish off the look......In terms of the maker, He is a Luthier of some 20-25 years and has made me an acoustic bass previously , so I asked him to do this project. Thanks for looking anyway and if anyone wants to try it , please drop me a line. Cheers
 18. Hello People , My first post.....and its to try and get dosh off you!!! Right , Have tried three times to list this on Evil Bay, but they keep pulling it off so thought I'd try here after a recommendation. I have a custom made, REPLICA, of a 62 Custom Shop Jazz Bass for grabs, I had it made for me 2 years ago by a guy in Manchester of some 20+ years experience and as I use a Geddy Lee & a Jaco signature basses I wasn't just going to settle for any piece of rubbish. The body is Alder and finished in Daphne Blue, the scratchplate is a very light mint green to look more aged, the bass has custom wound PUPS that give it a really good spectrum of sounds and it has the PUP cover and F Ashtray bridge cover. The neck is a gem, in rosewood and finished with a nitro cellulose lacquer so again it looks aged. Has skunk stripe and a fat C shape. Back of the headstock has the Custom Shop decal applied. Good Machine heads, low ratio, never let me down from a tuning point of viewand headstock has Fender decal applied to look the part. There is a slight dent to the fretboard at top edge of 2nd fret where I caught it on the side of the door frame at our rehearsal room, but this in no way affects playability. You can here the bass itself by going to www.myspace.com/shortwavefade All songs were recorded in March of this year using this bass. I am selling it purely as I have decided to quit the band following the birth of our Twin Boys. Together with a 4 year old they mean I simply cannot give the band the necessary support it needs...gutted but there you go, As a result I am reducing my "stock".... I paid a fair old bit for this.....a lot more than a Squire...however I understand that it is really only worth what ever someone is willing to pay....so If anyone is willing to part with £275. they can have a truly lovely bass. I am based in Leicester and you are welcome to try it out first, if your not happy then no problem. Ok folks thanks very much if you 've taken the time to read this. Cheers Matt Ps if the pics don't load please email me for photos on [email protected]
